I agree with buying the pre-shirred fabric, which I have seen at Hobby Lobby and Jo-Ann's also.

Um...you could start with the jeans-into-skirt tutorials and add in some straps or sleeves and some waist shaping, like so

I can't believe I just watched myself sew the straps of my dress in between the fabric and the lining...so that when I turn the bodice, they will be INSIDE...*headdesk*

Anyone have any alternatives/suggestions to interfacing?  Pellon and I don't get along, and I need to figure out what to for a dress bodice.
