I have a cute bag that I got awhile back, but the lining was made of a plastic-y material and tore after a couple of months. I wanna start using the bag again, but I need to re-do the lining.

Would this be possible, and how would I go about measuring it? Or would it just be easier to mend in instead of completely re-doing it? I haven't worked with bags much besides simple repairs, so I'm a bit clueless to how complicated it might get...
and it's a plain square bag, so I don't think it would be too hard, but I wanna make sure before I start anything....

I guess I felt like I needed to post my first machine project. XD
In my "Intro to Family and Consumer Science" class last year, we made a pair of PJ pants each for our final grade. It was fun and hectic working on it in class [especially the last day], and I never finished it [the sewing machine's in class were all taken by people who were way behind and had a buttload of work to do, so I didn't get it hemmed], but I do enjoy them.

the pants:

Made from Simplicity 9871 [I think that's the right number...] I can't tell you if the pattern is easy to use or not, cuz of the teacher's step-by-step instructions. I guess it was alright. But, you gotta follow the size chart. So many of the kids [including me] went up a size for more comfort and ended up with pants that were too big! [that's why mine look a bit saggy... I made the XL, and I needed the L...]
I made these months ago, so they've gone through a lot of wear. I did hem it after I got to take it home, so it's the right length. The stitches are horrendous, as this was my first time using a sewing machine... And somehow, when I sewed the elastic ends together, it got twisted. since it was sewn that way, I can't fix it unless I take it apart, and do not want to do that, so it'll stay that way.

Well, this plush is my first that actually looks like what it's modeled after. [and the first I've made it years.] It's a wailord, from pokemon!
there's a long story behind me making the doll, that I kinda find funny.

For the convention I'm attending, I will be cosplaying a Magma Grunt, also from pokemon. After I finished the costume, I felt like making a matching pokemon... but I didn't know which... So I consulted the only place for advice: Facebook! My dad, who has no interest in the games and thinks pokemon is rather stupid, comes up to me later and says: "Make a life-size Wailord or Gyarados!" [he didn't know how to say gyarados, so I was confused a second] If no one realizes it, wailord is the biggest pokemon ever, and would be bigger than two houses. Would be incredibly impossible to recreate in plush form. My sister and I explained that to him, but he still got a kick out of that. Again I go to facebook and share this gag with friends, and two of them are like "I want one!" One of those two actually said she'll pay for it, which got me to making it. [I won't actually charge her for it. More like a B-day gift] And that's what it's left to.

for starters, in order to get the shape down, I made a plain whale. He had an "x" blowhole, but I remembered the picture taking after I removed it from the ref.]

I added the extra fins and painted the details after that, and redid the eyes for my big sister said they should be on the sides instead of the middle. Here he is finished!

he's made of felt and what I assume is a jersey t-shirt type material... [whatever I found around the house.] The body is machine stitched, everything else is by hand. Hand painted also. [btw, paint on felt takes forever to dry!] The white spots on his tummy are from when I tried to fix what smeared of the black. [cuz I am very impatient when crafting, and tend to rush the things that take time... very bad habit.] I thought it may blend, but it didn't. D: ah well.
I may or may not make another for the other friend, again as a b-day present. I'll probably be the right color, if I can find the right color felt.

Just to keep in touch with my nerdy side, my 1 cosplay this year had to be from pokemon. It was my first costume done all [well, mostly, I guess.] by myself, so I'm kinda proud of it. XD

It's only been worn about in full once, for my school's character day. But we did get pics. XD

Only one for now, until the other people post theirs. [hopefully one will be more of a fullbody]
A friend of mine was pikachu that day, so we got lots of pictures together. Again, the shenanigans pics will come later, as we had tons of fun with it in chorus. XD

what do you think? I may remake the cowl part eventually. That was made out of two t-shirts, which I think came out good. ^^ The gloves, boots, black shirt and skirt are all store bought, otherwise I made it. The "M" is hand painted with the aid of a freezer paper stencil, and the dot was freehand.

Yeah... I'm cosplaying a Team Magma grunt from pokemon, but I'm totally lost in making the hooded capelet for it.

I guess it's less like a capelet because it's closed in the front, but that's what I was told it looked like.
This will be my first time making anything myself from scratch [I made a pair of pajama pants in class, but I was instructed in how to do that.] I bought the fabric and everything, but I'm nervous about starting and not knowing what I'm doing and messing up too badly. I looked for tutorials, but never found any I liked...
I'm aware I could just make a short cape and sew up the front, but I don't want the seam line there. [it'll look ugly, knowing my seams]

any help, please?
