1  A hand-stitched bracelet! = done! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Tarheellassie on: June 21, 2010 04:57:54 PM

I don't know if I have gotten ten posts yet to post pictures, so I apologize if you have to click on the links above! Sad

So I was bored one weekend, and instead of getting together with friends or watching a movie, I made this bracelet! I am in the process of doing a package swap with some friends in Australia, and thought cross stitching something for them would be fun, so I created this bracelet as a test run for myself to see if it would work.

The fabric is a canvas/upholstery material from a sampler book that you see in furniture stores! A cool little thrift find from last summer! And then of course, embroidery thread. I tried a small pattern from here: http://www.gancedo.eu/, which has TONS of awesome patterns for edging, and other needle work. All cross stitch. The stitching was difficult since it has NO way of measuring out individual stitches like cross stitch fabric, but I finished it, and sewed it up rather roughly. I just wanted to wear it! So it's not the prettiest finishing job ever.

But you are more than welcome to see this project as I presented it on my blog: http://tarheellassie.blogspot.com/
There are some other fun things there you might like. I plan on making some more bracelets like this. I have one on the embroidery hoop right now!

2  You've Got me in Stitches! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Tarheellassie on: June 21, 2010 02:03:16 PM

I made this over the weekend with leftover scraps of a burlap-type material, more like canvas, and some embroidery thread! My first contribution to the forum! I'm so excited!

What do you think?
