1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Silly Little question That Means A LOT on: September 13, 2012 01:36:58 PM
When it's too hot to knit (I live in Texas) I knit washcloths and cotton market bags.  Cotton is easier to work with if you're sweating, and these things are usuable in every season.

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / newbie question hook size on: September 13, 2012 01:23:54 PM
I usually knit, but I have something that I'd like toc rochet, and I know the basic stitches.

The pattern calls for a size H hook, but is from Europe - so I'm not familiar with the type of yarn.

What size yarn would you use to go with a Size H hook?

Thanks!

Jill
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Blankets for Bastrop - help with wildfire relief on: September 09, 2011 09:49:23 AM
the group, Blankets for Bastrop is asking for your help,

The devastating fires have burned throughout the state are still burning.  The Bastrop Fire is still only 30% contained.  To date, they have obliterated 30,000 acres andover 500 homes while they burned a swath of land 25 miles long by 20 miles wide.  Many, many families have lost everything in the fires.

We want to help by providing handmade blankets to those families in need. Whether its just to literally survive the next few weeks, or it is to begin to build and furnish a new life, soft and warm handmade blankets help to ease the strain.

Would you or your group like to help? If so, please visit us at http://blanketsforbastrop.wordpress.com or message me.
