1  Re: WWP Round 44 Mabon Swap (SU 7-29 to 8-15, SO 9-10) in The Swap Gallery by thegreengriffin on: September 17, 2013 05:04:05 PM
I'm so glad you liked your package whileitsraining!  I'm sorry I didn't let you know sooner that I got yours.  The baby and I have been sick for a while and I just haven't gotten hardly anything done.  But I did get it and LOVE it!
I got a bunch of jewelry, three cuff bracelets, a necklace, and a hair clip.  And two reusable sandwich bags.  And my favorite piece, a wood burned goddess plaque.

I already put the goddess plaque up on my mantle with my collection of deity statues.

I also really like the wool felted cuff bracelet.  I do a lot of work with wool and I'm so glad you had success with your first try!

2  Ransom note purse in CHALLENGE 65 ENTRIES by thegreengriffin on: August 06, 2011 06:41:54 PM
So this is my ransom note purse, it's all upcycled t-shirts and cotton for the lining.  I cut out the letters from various t-shirts and stitched them to the pink background.  Then I made little mask out of a black t-shirt and put it on the back pocket.  Since, if I were passing our ransom notes so much I needed a bag for them, I don't think I'd want people knowing who I was...
The lining is cotton with a newspaper print of old news stories such as man walking on the moon and Nixon resigning on it.

The handle is made of braided t-shirt strips.

The blue is an extra pocket outside.

The pink inside the purse is a sleeve of a t-shirt that I made into a smaller pocket inside.

As you can tell, Hawaii has just become the 50th US state!

this is such a cute idea!  i hope you dont mind me adding another idea for book lovers.  i made this faerie house inside of a book.  It was actually for a library contest so i made the faerie who livd there be into books too, so there's lots of books inside, she's writing a book on the table, and the pictures on the wall are french and asian ( i think chinese) writing.

5  Dr House and Dr Cuddy Costumes Easy Last Minute in Halloween Costumes by thegreengriffin on: September 08, 2010 09:49:48 PM
Heres some pictures of my fiance and I last year at halloween.  we were dr house and dr cuddy from the tv show house md.  It was a pretty easy costume, i dressed in business clothes with a low cut top, carried a clip board and had a stethoscope.  Dr house dressed in jeans, a rock tee, and a blazer and carried an old pill bottle (thoroughly washed) with tic tacs and a cane.  I did wear a wig, but that's bc i am a blonde...you could also temp dye your hair if wanted.  we did splurge on nicely done nametags from someone on ebay who did movie/tv replicas (splurge means like $3 each), but you could do just plain nametags with the names or even make your own with printed out pics of the actors.  they are a nice keepsake though bc it was our first halloween engaged!
