1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Beach Glass Sun Catchers and Pendents (image intense) on: July 29, 2011 06:12:45 AM
They are all really cute.  Love the mermaids and the sailboats.

As for the photography, you could look online for directions on a photo light box, but personally I'd photograph these either outside or at least in a window with the light behind them.  Good luck.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: 4 year Noah's Ark cross stitch!! (pic heavy) on: March 18, 2011 11:39:56 AM
They are all beautiful.  The dog on the snowball is my favourite, but I also love how cute and cuddly those alligators looks in the Noah's Ark piece.
3  COOKING / Dessert / Re: First tiered cake, covered in marshmallow fondant on: February 23, 2011 09:52:53 AM
The hole in the top is small and you could easily cover it after with an extra fondant star like the ones on the sides of your cake.

Did you make the marshmallow fondant yourself?  I've been to rushed or lazy to try that yet myself.
4  COOKING / Dessert / Re: a cupcake conundrum; icing inquiry... on: February 22, 2011 08:05:30 AM
Sorry, as I'm in Canada I can't help with a brand name, but most the time I make my own frosting anyway.
I'm jealous of some of the baking items you can get over there whenever I buy my British cake decorating magazines.

I think you should be fine with any creamy butter or vegetable lard based frosting.  The worst thing that might happen is a thin crust on top.
Stay away from a whipped cream based frosting because it will separate over time if not refrigerated.
5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: First tiered cake, covered in marshmallow fondant on: February 22, 2011 07:46:49 AM
I'm so excited! I made my first tiered cake tonight, and it seems fairly successful! I'm still unsure of exactly how to make it super secure (I put dowel rods in, but it's just sitting on top) but as it's not moving anywhere other than MY MOUTH hehe I'm not too worried.
It's a lovely cake, nice job!
Most the time when I make a tiered cake a bit of icing between the bottom cake the the cardboard of the top cake is enough to secure it.  If I'm taking the cake a further distance or if it's top heavy or tall I force a sharpened dowel down the center through both layers and remove it at the location.  You may need to hammer it to get it through the cardboard between the layer.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Ideas to spruce up my plain wedding dress, please! Photo heavy-ish on: December 29, 2010 09:53:23 AM
Love the white flowers, I've seen ones like that in tons of wedding magazines.  I'd use those and add pink and grey pearls with the flowers and along a few of the folds.
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Oil Portrait on: December 20, 2010 01:13:04 PM
It's a beautiful painting.  Nice and loose but you can see the detail of the fingers and face also.  Great expression in the face.
8  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Toddler size Meatwad Costume!! Aqua Teen Hunger Force on: November 03, 2010 06:45:15 PM
He's so cute!  The Meatwad face is perfect also.

Love it!  Great job.

What a wonderful gift.  I think that was really thoughtful.
The drawing is cute too.
