1671  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: IYP 21 Summer Soiree (Signups Closed-- Send by July 16,2012) on: June 15, 2012 07:47:16 AM
Grr. So, I thought I was all done for weeks now, but the other day I double-checked the ___ and now I have to redo it! When I went back up to joann's I found that the other __ of ___ were just as defective as the one I used  Angry  I've thoroughly tested another product, though, so I got it and have started recrafting.
1672  Category Challenges / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Challenge Entries / Re: Future Challenge Theme Suggestions for Toys, Dolls and Playthings on: June 14, 2012 07:08:47 AM
Wasn't there one a little while ago (several months at least, I think)? There were lots of fun ideas that didn't get chosen. I'm pretty sure it was this board...

Depending on when this is, perhaps an outdoor theme? Toy versions of things that are outside (birds, cars, campgrounds) doll clothes for camping, the beach, horse riding, etc., or games/supplies to be used outside (a pretty, crafty, non-standard badminton shuttlecock, a revamped croquet set) could be entered. Or maybe a reconstructed theme?

I think some from the poll- if I remember right -were educational (maybe good for a fall/September challenge?), fantasy...drawing a blank now.
1673  Category Challenges / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Challenge Entries / Re: Purses, Bags and Wallets Challenge Ideas on: June 14, 2012 06:51:39 AM
I like that idea: any commercial container into a bag. It could turn into an alliteration frenzy: Craft a Commercial Container into a Crafty Carry-all.

I was thinking a purse/bag/wallet from your own material. Weaving ribbons, sewing fabric strips, taping duct tape and fusing juice pouches, that sort of thing.

This hat is amazing! So many, many cool and wonderful techniques you put into it: paper flowers, shoe polish, why did I even start listing there are so many! It's stunning even without being paper.
1675  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Hair Accessories Swap Round 2 GALLERY! on: June 14, 2012 06:29:26 AM
Ooo, those are some pretties! The 2 bobbies and the elastic look quite cool and the black and silver fancy one is just lovely.
1676  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Baba Yaga Matchbox house on: June 13, 2012 09:01:32 PM
Okay I agree that the chicken feet are amazing, but how about putting the bones in the matchbox part?! Great, great, great touch there for a wicked forest theme. Baba Yaga scared the heck out of me as a kid but hero/ines like Prince Ivan and Vasilisa kept me coming back. Simply stunning work on her house!
1677  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Vintage swap Sign ups May 2 to May 30 Send outs June 30th on: June 13, 2012 08:01:30 PM
I'm almost done with my 1st item! It alone would qualify for a large by time, but it's small in size so I want to do something else too. I have an idea, but need to find the supply.  Smiley
1678  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: 13 Days of Halloween on: June 13, 2012 06:14:35 PM
Perhaps someone could pm the previous organizers and see it they'd be interested in running either again?

There was also talk last year of a mid-sized swap. I think the idea was to follow the size of the days in the big version BUT have 1 item per day. I loved this plan!
1679  Washington / Washington: West / Re: Seattle Area Summer Meetup? on: June 13, 2012 06:07:51 PM
I am definitely not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but I definitely like the idea of crafting time! It sounds like people are going for badges which would give me an excuse to try them out and pick all you experts' brains. Vinyl badges..you have me interested...
Plus, I'd have to hand sew with the pouches. I'll hand sew 'em shut, but the whole thing?! *shudder*  Smiley
1680  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Hair Accessories Swap Round 2 GALLERY! on: June 13, 2012 12:11:13 PM
Hello, fellow swappers!

Johnson.mom2two won't be online much these next several days so has asked me to keep a closer watch on the swap for her  Smiley Please, please check the 2nd post in this thread (the one I made) and see if the color-coded info is correct. If there're any issues let me and johnson.mom2two know and we'll sort it out.

Thanks, ladies!
