1621  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: IYP 21 Summer Soiree (Signups Closed-- Send by July 16,2012) on: July 03, 2012 06:18:40 AM
It says my package to Calabaza was delivered today but they left a notice. C-you need to get yourself on over to the PO and get it! Wink

It's getting picked up right now! They said anytime after 6am.

Oh, sorry if the switch-around caused you trouble  Embarrassed I think I could have spent my life savings on your supplies if your stash was a store!

I've started gathering and stuffing. I'm surprised myself at all the stuff I have!

So, are the partners permanent now, mini_mum?

Yes - partners now set.

You know, even though I feel really bad I miss the allergy, I feel kinda good about it too.

Let me explain, especially for those who missed this bit! Calabaza has an allergy to most pets, which I noticed, then forgot about and promptly managed to partner her with 2 cat owners Sad
but as you can tell from the above discussion dewshinesdopp and Calabaza were really coveting each others lists, which means that I did do a good job on matching up 'gots' and 'wants', at least for some partners! Smiley

Also - it was only AFTER the allergy was pointed out to me that I realised just how many of us crafters have pets!

I know! It was an amazing got and want partnering. Don't feel bad, mini_mum, I've managed to nearly partner myself with pet-owners. Like sitting down, ready to post partners and then hitting my forehead and saying "d'oh!" Smiley

Oh! And I'm very happy with my new partners too! Smiley

Thanks for the site, dewshinesdopp! Yes, that was what I was drooling the most over  Smiley Must check this out and keep it in mind! I'm glad I didn't cause too much of a hassle for you.
Thanks again! I hope your crafting muscles will end up enjoying the new workout.

I did some stalking on one partner, and plotting for a different partner, and gathering of supplies for my third partner.

I feel sort of bad...one partner I have been paired with before and is ~super easy~ for me to do...Realisitically, I could craft today, and mail tomorrow for her.

The second partner, I have chatted with a bit, and had a personal swap set up right in the same time-frame, so she's easy peasy, too.

I must confess, my third partner has me in a bit of a quandry...I don't have ~any~ of her requested supplies, and don't really know how to do any of her requested crafts... going to have to "work" a bit on that one...

That's okay, though... stretching my boundaries is a good thing...right?

Yes! Question, though: how much of the final product needs to be from scratch? Like, for the full recipe, would one have to post how to make a graham cracker crust and the pie filling or would using a store-bought crust be okay?

Thanks for complementing the skirt Calabaza, I made the skirt from fabric from a bamboo skirt around the back and sides and attached netting to that from a dress then put fabric from a pleated cotton blend skirt down the center and used remnants of the bamboo skirt to make the band at the top. Thank goodness for my fabric/crafting stash!

I made a 'tutorial' in case you're curious:

Awesome! I just checked it out. The skirt is neater than I thought from the picture! What a great combination of fabrics.
