1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Need an art easel? Like NOW! I made one from sticks and screws.... on: July 13, 2010 07:06:08 AM
i was in desperate need of an easel for a project. Rather than rush to buy one, I left the "crafty" pull me toward my solution. I went to my backyard, found 3 straight sticks and commence to making my easel. The husband was and all to willing helper in my mad plan.... Smiley OK so its not that dramatic, I thought it was cool we could make an easel in 10 minutes. It also folds flat for storage, which I thought was cool. SO behold ye easel!

It filled it's purpose for the day. I am going to sand it and varnish later. I thought I would throw it out, but I love it now! It works so well for my needs...and it was FREE!
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Skulls and Roses on: July 04, 2010 12:13:00 AM
This is a painting I did on 9 x 12 watercolor paper using Luquitex Acrylics and Sharpie markers. Smiley I found the line art on google but I freehanded it and painted it myself. I really liked the composition of the pic I saw online and since it is personal artwork not for sale, I drew it almost identical. I didn't want anyone to think I was stealin' de line arts. Enjoy!

I just found the original artist of the line art! Here is a link the orginal piece I found while browsing. Very talented guy Smiley

4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A Gift for a Friend :) on: June 26, 2010 10:04:47 PM
I love to make things for gifts as well as I love getting handmade things! Anyways, a very close friend's daughter just turned one. I wanted to give her something unique and and something she could always keep. I took the photo of her at Easter and drew a portrait from that picture. I had it framed and gave it to her a few days ago. She loved it! Smiley Thanks for looking everyone Smiley

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Just had surgery...all I can do is paint! on: June 26, 2010 09:08:03 PM
Like the title says.. I just had my gallbladder removed a few days ago. I can't go anywhere or do anything. I can't sit at the computer long. I have found a way to be comfy on the couch and paint. I have actually enjoyed my time doing this, since I am usually so busy doing other work related things. I hope you all enjoy. Smiley

This is sort of a recycle project. I love to buy old framed prints to paint over and for the frames. Painted with acrylic.
Finished project

Thanks for looking Smiley
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Recycle Copper Wire Cords..Idea? on: June 23, 2010 10:11:28 AM
I have been reclaiming copper wire from various things... (old appliances people have thrown away, etc..) I know I can take it to be recycled, but I would like some crafting ideas with it. The strands are so thin, I'm not sure how I could use it in jewelry making. I would much rather find a way to use this copper I have reclaimed, rather go buy thicker wire...

ANY ideas are very much appreciated!
7  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / ReVamped Hand Painted Tattoo Shoes on: June 17, 2010 10:12:46 PM
Hello Everyone!

This is my first post.  Smiley I have been lurking for quite some time now and finally thought I should share a little something. I have had these shoes forever. I was about to throw them out when I decided to paint on them first. I figured if I messed them up, no harm done. I really loved the result.

Painted using acrylic, and Sharpie markers Smiley

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
