Is there a trick to keeping the areas of color exactly the same size so both eyes match?  If I tried something that complex, I just know that the blocks of color would be different on each eye...

Practice is always a good thing. Makeup brushes help tremendously as well.

I do one color on the right eye, then do the same color on the left. I then look straight into my mirror. I check to make sure that both sides match. I can then adjust if I need too. Sometimes both eyes do not match exactly. I think this is ok b/c nobody is going to be up in your face that close to judge you.(not usually, but I went to Sephora the day I wore this, so I triple checked everything, lol)  I try to get it them as even as possible and leave it at that. Thanks everyone Smiley I appreciate all the comments and compliments!

And cassiecate57 if you recreate the look, I would LOVE to see! Or if anyone does a look inspired by the colors. I would love to see any of those as well Smiley

@ AmbiguousArtist  The colors really stand out with the strobe lights I use for photography... I have also been using UDPP in Eden. The opaqueness of it also seems to make my CS shadows REALLY stand out.

Thanks again ladies!

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Need an art easel? Like NOW! I made one from sticks and screws.... on: July 14, 2010 05:23:11 AM
Thanks everyone! I want to make another one now Smiley

It looks so nice to use and look at - so much more natural and individual than a normal easel. How stable is it? What a cool idea!

It is actually VERY stable. I can swing the back leg out and make it a little shorter as well. The shape of the sticks natural make a tripod. The only thing I need to add is a way to hold the top of the canvas while I am painting it. Other than that, I was able to paint on it very easily! I wouldn't even need a top clamp if I didn't paint so wildly sometimes! lol...

GASP! My husband needs an easel right now and this would be PERFECT! Now, I just have to go find some sticks....not really easy when we live in an apartment with no trees. I wonder if I would get in trouble if I acquired some from the park.....

Since I have made this one I did find someone else that had made one from bamboo. You may could get that more readily, or shorter sticks would make a great table top easel!
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Need an art easel? Like NOW! I made one from sticks and screws.... on: July 13, 2010 07:06:08 AM
i was in desperate need of an easel for a project. Rather than rush to buy one, I left the "crafty" pull me toward my solution. I went to my backyard, found 3 straight sticks and commence to making my easel. The husband was and all to willing helper in my mad plan.... Smiley OK so its not that dramatic, I thought it was cool we could make an easel in 10 minutes. It also folds flat for storage, which I thought was cool. SO behold ye easel!

It filled it's purpose for the day. I am going to sand it and varnish later. I thought I would throw it out, but I love it now! It works so well for my needs...and it was FREE!
