21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / First Ever Project Post! YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!! on: February 01, 2011 03:30:13 AM
Okay, I've been making jewellery on and off for the past 5 or so years, and while many of my creations have been gifted, I still have a heck of a lot of stuff I've made for myself. And I've been thinking about doing this for awhile, so when I decided to make my mom a bracelet as part of her Christmas gift, using a stitch I've never done before, I planned ahead and took pictures:





Originally, I was going to make this silver with blue, but then I thought, "Nah, she has lots of silver stuff. I bet she doesn't have a lot of blue stuff, though."

It's basically a herringbone stitch with a ladder stitch holding the rows together and then a brick stich at the end. The pattern link is saved somewhere on my computer...

The only difference between her pattern and my mom's bracelet is that I didn't have any size 15.0 beads at the time and just used 11/0 all the way through. And it's gorgeous, and Mom loves it, so it's all good.  Cheesy

And I loved the stitch so much, that I decided to experiment with a ring  Grin


It doesn't photograph that well, but I like it and that's all that matters!  Smiley

WOW!!! This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest articles of clothing I have ever seen. In my entire life. No joke. Not only is it a gorgeous dress, but IT. FLIPPING. TURNS. INTO A TENT. This... this is straight-up Transformers clothing right here. If I manage to survive some kind of crazy apocalypse, you bet your ass I will be running around in a magic tent-dress.

Why don't you try doing a few ear cuffs with AmeliaLune's tutorial? I bet they'd look phenomenal!
Hm... or cuff bracelets, or just making freeform linked bracelets with eyepins/wire and jump rings...
