11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Hip to be RECTANGULAR!!!!! on: February 04, 2011 08:24:12 AM
Well, I uploaded a zillion photos last night, and figured I should just do all my posts before I forget. Because I most definitely would.

This is something I get compliments on ALLLLLL the time. If I could find more of the 3-piece bead sets, I'd probably would have made a buttload selling these.
*sigh* What I wouldn't give for some money right now...

And the sad thing is that I got the set 2-3 years ago, and didn't know what to do with it. Oh, if only I had known...    Cry

Close up of the beads.
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Two newer pieces and three older ones :) (many pics) on: February 04, 2011 08:14:56 AM
Alright, this one has crept into my list of favorite pieces lately. Probaby because it's just cute 'n' simple  Grin

Just your basic lariat necklace, but I'm probably going to make a couple more of them, or just buy a few more charms that I can interchange with the clover. I saw a little set of headphones at Zeller's that have been begging me to buy them, although I think that calls for some music notes to accompany it.
Oh, and the circle's just your average accent ring  Tongue

This one was inspired quickly by large bead cages on sale at Michaels for $2! And it's big and chunky, just how I like my bracelets  Cheesy

I get a lot of jokes about how finding only 6 of my marbles isn't good enough.  Grin

This piece was made around the same time as my classy necklaces in the beadwork section. I just made sections of beads on eye pins and added them to random lengths of chain.

This one used to be a y-necklace, but I borrowed it to a friend, and the 2nd quartz sphere (that was the same size as this one) fell off during her drunken escapades. Now I know better and never lend out my pretties.

And finally (though I still need to adjust it a little because it doesn't stay the way it's supposed to all the time):

I just have to find the time to diassemble and rejoin the chain in the center part so that it doesn't flop. And I think I'm going to reconnect the beads so that they angle down slightly and make a nicer line.

Feel free to critique/ comment.

13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / A little exotic looking, no? on: February 04, 2011 07:48:53 AM
This is a set I made around the same time I did the Classy Necklaces. The necklace pattern came out of a book, which I photocopied, so when I find my book full of inspiration and photocopied patterns I'll edit the post and put the tutorial up if anyone would like it Cheesy I just love how it's kind of sea-and-sand tropical and exotic without being overtly so!
The necklace is made up of 11/0 seed beads, and 8 mm cracked glass accents.

I wanted a piece to match the necklace, so the bracelet is just 2 strands of thread with 10 sb on each, then crossed through the ab, then 10 sb on each again, etc etc etc.

14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Looking Classy for Less :P (2 versions with mini instructions) on: February 04, 2011 07:03:29 AM
I made these several years ago- well, I made at least 5 of them several years ago and these are the ones I kept for myself.

They just remind me of those classy necklaces that the stars wore in the golden age of Hollywood  Cheesy

And they're not hard to make at all. Basically, it's two passes with the needle, or two threads, depending on how comfortable you feel. if you use two threads, you can always add on another section or two if you want to lengthen the necklace. You can also alter the number of seed beads in each section to make the triangle shape wider or more narrow, or to make it longer or shorter  Smiley

Here's a close up to look off of for the tutorial.

Mini Tute:
Need: thread, 11/0 seed beads, accent beads (pattern calls for 4 mm).

silver lined beads and crystals version (mine has 17 sections, but the original pattern had 18)
Base strand: 1 ab, 4 sb, 1 ab, 4 sb etc.
to make drops: go through 1st ab, add 11 sb, 1 ab, 1 sb. Pass through ab again and add another 11 sb. Then skip the next crystal on the base strand and pass through the next one so that there's an accent bead centered above the drop (remember to check the picture).

Black version:
There's only 2 small differences: I used 2 different accent beads and upped the number of seed beads, so the base strand pattern is altered.
b=bicone (crystal), r=round

1 r, 5 sb, 1 c, 5 sb, 1 r, 5 sb...   ending with a r.

Have fun looking classy  Cheesy

20  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Another bracelet... SO SPARKLY! on: February 01, 2011 08:27:50 PM
Just putting up my bestie's Christmas gift- one of several pieces of jewellery I have promised her...
This is using one of my favorite tutorials, and there will probably be more to follow, once I catch up in all of the work in my 3 creative writing classes...
The tute: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=24646.0

Sorry, this one's a tad blurry

She's the biggest fan of winter I know. Absolutely loves it  Cheesy so the sparkliness was very well received.
