1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Cards for my sister and nieces on: March 24, 2013 08:47:04 PM
My sister had a baby!  I'm an aunt again!  I still haven't met the little one, but she's so cute!  I made some congratulations cards.  This one is for my sister.  Tulips are her favorite.  (This is my first time quilling.  I love it.)

This one is for my niece, the big sister.  She loves owls.

And this is for the newest niece herself.

I'm hoping they like them.  They were fun to make.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Flowy dresses on: June 21, 2011 09:55:37 PM
I saw this top in class one day and decided I could make it, but that it would be better as a dress!  So I made the first one out of two scarves I got at Target for $5 each.  I love it!  I think my only problem is that I have too much chest for it.  Since I HAVE to wear a bra, I'm stuck with the adhesive kind, which isn't exactly comfortable.  But it's gorgeous.  I just wish it was easier to wear.  I love the open back, though.  So Sexy, but not showing too much.

The white one was for someone for a black and white party.  Also gorgeous.  I love the fabric, too.  It's white and flowy, but not see-through!

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Becoming an organizer on: June 09, 2011 08:39:57 AM
I really want to start organizing swaps, and I know I have to co-organize one first.  But I don't know how to get over that hump.  So anyone need/want a co-organizer?  Any advice?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Skirts!! (quite a few pics) on: April 09, 2011 11:25:25 PM
So I've been really busy the past month or so.  I've turned out a bunch of stuff, including these three adorable skirts.  The first two are pretty simple gathered skirts, which each took exactly one yard of fabric.  The last one is a knit pencil skirt that is oh so comfy and includes three seams, all with matched stripes!  It was my first time working with stripes, and while it was annoying, I really appreciate the outcome.  Anyway.  On to the skirts!

Let me know your thoughts.  Oh yea, the first one has pockets!  I love skirts with pockets...
(Thanks to my wonderful boyfriend for the pics otherwise these never would have gotten up here)
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A couple freezer-paper stencil shirts on: February 22, 2011 08:50:16 PM
I have a huge family and when Christmas came, I decided to make everyone's gift by hand.  For my brother in law, I went with a dave matthews band t-shirt.  I printed out the silver fire dancer on freezer paper and the letters DMB.  Then I sprayed it with some diluted bleach.  He loved it, and put it on immediately.  One of my sister's friends saw it later and said she wanted two, so I made a couple for them, too!

And then for my boyfriend, I made a star trek shirt for valentine's day.  He absolutely loves it.  He even got a compliment on it the first time he wore it.  I haven't gotten a picture of it alone, but I got a good action shot.  (Isn't he cute?)

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Beach towel cat bed on: October 31, 2010 07:56:28 PM
I made this bed for my cats a couple months ago.  They absolutely love it.  I love that they both fit in it.  They like to lay in it together, especially since it's right in the sun!

They both fit perfectly! But Duncan (the gray one) wakes up if you even think about taking a picture of him..
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Treebag - Messenger style! on: September 18, 2010 09:46:03 PM
I whipped this thing up tonight in about an hour.  The hardest thing was the tree on front, which I drew freehand (and I'm not much for drawing).  I'm very impressed with how it looks.

The beige is a very thick canvas and the redish on the sides and strap is faux suede.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Most valuable baby items to sew on: July 15, 2010 09:39:05 AM
I am planning a pregnancy soon.  I have a lot of time right now and I was thinking about starting to sew clothes and other baby stuff now.  Since I'm not pregnant yet, these items would have to work for either boy or girl.  I'm not a big stickler on boys wear blue, girls wear pink, but a boy isn't going to be wearing dresses.  I have already figured out onesies and have made some of those out of t-shirts.  What other things should I have a lot of?  I'm planning to make bedding, clothes, and everything else.
I would love some advice from more experienced mothers about what I should make.  What did you always wish you had more of?  What did you use the most?  Any toy or other not-so-obvious things to sew?

Thanks for any advice!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / stiff cotton on: June 08, 2010 06:29:53 PM
I have two yards of gorgeous fabric, but it is so stiff.  I really have no clue what to do with it.  I just can't think of anything that would look good that doesn't have any movement.  I have about a yard of coordinating fabric in a solid color that has a good bit of movement.  Does anyone have any ideas?
