1  Re: OTT Swap Secret Pal Round 2 - Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by rainysunshine789 on: April 16, 2013 04:18:49 PM
Omg, I received the CUTEST tiny thing ever.  I love it so much.  I couldn't stop smiling when I opened the box.  It's just so adorable.

It's a Tardis Fez!  With sparkly streamers, of course.  I really do love it.

And of course, the action shot.  How could I not?

I really do love it.  Thanks to my super secret partner!

2  Cards for my sister and nieces in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by rainysunshine789 on: March 24, 2013 08:47:04 PM
My sister had a baby!  I'm an aunt again!  I still haven't met the little one, but she's so cute!  I made some congratulations cards.  This one is for my sister.  Tulips are her favorite.  (This is my first time quilling.  I love it.)

This one is for my niece, the big sister.  She loves owls.

And this is for the newest niece herself.

I'm hoping they like them.  They were fun to make.

A shelf bra is an awesome idea!! I wonder if I could do that... Some experiments may ensue...   I think it could be done.  If it had a bra, I'd wear this thing all the time.

As for how it's made, it is incredibly simple.  You just sew two sides together, but leave about 6 inches open on the front (to make the bodice) and about 15 inches open on the back.  The best way to do it is just hold it up to your body and figure out how low you want it to be.  Then ties, and hem if you use fabric instead of scarves. Just because I knew it would only take a second, here's a picture.

4  Flowy dresses in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rainysunshine789 on: June 21, 2011 09:55:37 PM
I saw this top in class one day and decided I could make it, but that it would be better as a dress!  So I made the first one out of two scarves I got at Target for $5 each.  I love it!  I think my only problem is that I have too much chest for it.  Since I HAVE to wear a bra, I'm stuck with the adhesive kind, which isn't exactly comfortable.  But it's gorgeous.  I just wish it was easier to wear.  I love the open back, though.  So Sexy, but not showing too much.

The white one was for someone for a black and white party.  Also gorgeous.  I love the fabric, too.  It's white and flowy, but not see-through!

5  Re: Crafty Skirt Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by rainysunshine789 on: April 15, 2011 11:56:17 AM
I received!  Sadly, I can't take pictures of myself.  So I only have pictures of this adorable skirt on the hanger.  It's a transparent top layer (and drape) over a nude colored solid skirt.  It looks so cute on me (and fits perfectly).  Hopefully you can get the idea from the picture.

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post.  I only have a weird way to upload pictures, and the cable I needed had disappeared.  Finally found it, then remembered I had to post pics!
So here goes.  These are some awesome hand-drawn position cards, each with an explanation on the back.

I also got a pouch, some handcuffs, and a box to store stuff in.

There were also two shirts that I didn't get a picture of...
Again sorry that it took so long.  I had so much fun in this swap!

7  Skirts!! (quite a few pics) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rainysunshine789 on: April 09, 2011 11:25:25 PM
So I've been really busy the past month or so.  I've turned out a bunch of stuff, including these three adorable skirts.  The first two are pretty simple gathered skirts, which each took exactly one yard of fabric.  The last one is a knit pencil skirt that is oh so comfy and includes three seams, all with matched stripes!  It was my first time working with stripes, and while it was annoying, I really appreciate the outcome.  Anyway.  On to the skirts!

Let me know your thoughts.  Oh yea, the first one has pockets!  I love skirts with pockets...
(Thanks to my wonderful boyfriend for the pics otherwise these never would have gotten up here)

8  Re: Make a Purse & Fill It Swap (Round 6) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by rainysunshine789 on: February 28, 2011 07:28:04 PM
I received from EllaRain on Friday.  I immediately put my stuff in my new purse (and headed out of town, hence the late pictures). I told her that I usually carried my sony eReader and I wanted easy access to my keys.  And this is what she came up with.

It has an AMAZING padded zipper pocket on the inside. It's completely unnoticeable from the outside, which is awesome for some extra safety.  No one realizes there is expensive technology in there.  But it's still cushioned enough that I am comfortable leaving my eReader in there.  It also has two pockets on the front, which perfectly fit my phone and my keys. The fabric is gorgeous.  The same brown and blue brocade is on the back of the purse.  It is perfect for me.

She checked out my wist and made me a gorgeous scoodie.

It's purple and fuzzy on the inside.  It's already spring here (Alabama) and in the 70s every day, so I'll have to wait a while to use it.  When it gets cold again, it will be perfect for walking to class and going to football games!

And here are all the other extras she sent me!

Some highlighters, which I've already broken into for my homework.  She also sent some adorable bird-shaped notes and cute flower note cards.  Some blistex and mints, and the coolest buddha necklace ever.  It's based on a scrabble tile necklace that looks exactly the same, but rectangle that was in my wist.  It's so awesome.

She also sent some toys for my cats, which I had pictures of, but they seem to have disappeared... The kitties loved them, the baby especially.

Thank you SO much!  You were an awesome swap partner.  I love everything.

9  A couple freezer-paper stencil shirts in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rainysunshine789 on: February 22, 2011 08:50:16 PM
I have a huge family and when Christmas came, I decided to make everyone's gift by hand.  For my brother in law, I went with a dave matthews band t-shirt.  I printed out the silver fire dancer on freezer paper and the letters DMB.  Then I sprayed it with some diluted bleach.  He loved it, and put it on immediately.  One of my sister's friends saw it later and said she wanted two, so I made a couple for them, too!

And then for my boyfriend, I made a star trek shirt for valentine's day.  He absolutely loves it.  He even got a compliment on it the first time he wore it.  I haven't gotten a picture of it alone, but I got a good action shot.  (Isn't he cute?)

Wow, this package was amazing.  Totally worth all the craziness that went into getting it.  I moved in the middle of this swap, but forget to tell my partner my new address.  So the package went to my old address.  Instead of leaving it in the apartment office like usual, they took it back to the post office, which took days for me to find!  But all this stuff is so amazing, I don't care about all that.  Wow, I love everything.
On to the goodies!
This is a crocheted case for my sony eReader.  I LOVE penguins.

The eyes are buttons!  It fits perfect, too.  Smiley

TONS of cross-stitch/embroidery supplies.  I'm doing some cross stitching for my family for christmas.  I'm so excited to have a lot of supplies to help with that!

Handmade stamps and ink pads.  Buddha and some very eastern looking clouds.  I love both these stamp designs.

Some adorable crocheted cat toys!

Action shots

Thank you so much!!!
