1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Super Awesome Tie-dyed Baby Blanket!!! on: August 20, 2010 10:26:54 PM
My good friends are having a baby girl so naturally I wanted to make a blanket for her! I really wanted to make one that would fit the parents style... so being vermonters we decided it needed to be tie-dyed.

The blanket was done in 100% cotton sugar n' cream in white. The pattern was just a simple ripple stitch. After it was done being crocheted we tie-dyed it just as we would a t-shirt!

The most challenging thing about the process was getting the blanket tied up correctly for the spiral to work. Luckily I happened to have my handy-dandy origami master on hand and he used his awesome folding powers to get that blanket into a pretty good spiral!

What do you think?
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Father's Day Ami! on: June 20, 2010 03:27:04 PM
i found the little glasses at Michael's Craft Store yesterday.  They look JUST like the ones my father-in-law wears so I just had to make a little amigurumi of him for father's day. It was a bit rushed considering I only started around 10 pm last night and had to finish up this morning to give it to him as his gift on time.

Apparently it looks just like his Mii.  Any way, he liked it so mission accomplished!
3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Renji Abarai from Bleach Amigurumi on: May 29, 2010 06:59:26 PM
I had some left over yarn so I thought I'd try my hand at amigurumi.  His head got a little heavy so I counter weighted it with pennies in his body. Hes worth at least 23 cents!

My black and red yarn was a smaller gauge, so his clothes were made separately. Since his shirt could come off I thought he needed some form of his tattoos but I found that to be a bit difficult. (Especially because hes filled with pennies...)

I'm pretty happy with the result though. Hes pretty cute
