Sooooo cute!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / I'm learning how to scupt baby dolls (photo intense) on: April 10, 2014 07:22:25 AM

I made this little baby boy out of polymer clay. Even his eyes were hand made.  I just started sculpting just under two months ago.
I made his crib from plastic canvas, and sewed his outfit using fabric from my Dad's old T shirt. I don't have a lot of experience with sewing, lol.  The miniature book is from a printable, and the stacking toy was made from buttons. I needle felted his teddy bear.

Here's a close up picture.  His mattress and pillow are made from foam sheets, covered with fabric.

This baby girl was also made from polymer clay.  I crocheted her outfit.

This blue tufted elf baby was also made from polymer clay.  I made his boat cradle from plastic canvas, and crocheted his sailor suit.

I made this pouty toddler out of polymer clay, and crocheted her outfit.  She is my biggest baby to date.

Here are the four babies all together with the plastic canvas crib and highchair set.  All of the dolls except the pouty brunette toddler are in Barbie scale. The crib and highchair pattern are meant for Barbie babies.  I think I prefer that size over the bigger doll, but a friend who has been sculpting for years suggested I sculpt a bit bigger because it's easier for beginners.

I'm having a lot of fun with this new hobby and can't wait to get started on my next doll.

Name: Crafty Kat
House: Gryffindor
Class: Flying
Project: Flying Car
Project page link: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Kitkat12/little-blue-crochet-car

I crafted this flying car, and Harry and Ron were happy to take it out to test it. It works as great as the original at protecting young wizards against giant spiders.

Thank you for fixing the post and for telling me how to not quote images. Smiley Smiley

How can we respond to posts without quoting, and is there a way to quote only part of a message and not all (like for, example, the photos of projects?).

So cute!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Muggle Studies class
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: PIGgy Bank
Project Page Link: Right here
Brief Description: In my study of muggle money, I discovered that many muggles keep their money in "piggy banks."  The only Pig I know is Ron's owl, so I decided to make a bank in his likeness.  It's mostly papier-mch around an old pill bottle.

There's a magnet in his beak that holds the envelope (which has a large needle in it).  I put contact paper on the envelope so it can be used as a mini dry-erase board where you can write down what you want to save money for.

Thank you!  Woohoo; this is exciting.
I've been a member of craftster for quite a long time but when I got a new computer I lost all of my bookmarks and couldn't remember the name of the group, lol.  I have to learn how it all works all over again  Grin.
I'll go read everything again now.
Take care,
Kat

Hi Kat.  Welcome to the HPC!  You can join at any time, so don't worry about not finding us sooner.  As for what House you belong to, our Sorting Hat lets YOU decide that.  Wink  So if you declare yourself a Gryffindor, then a Gryffindor you will be!  Be sure to read through the first page of this thread, which will explain most of how the Craftalong works.  If you have questions after that, please don't hesitate to PM Headmistress pinkleo AND myself (Deputy Headmistress).  Or, you can always ask a question here in the thread.  The other participants are very helpful, and many have been with us for several semesters now, so they know their way around the 'castle' quite well!  Cheers!   Cheesy

Hi, I'd LOVE to join the HP craft along; I just wish I would have learned of it sooner, as I've been busy working on Hagrid's  hut in plastic canvas, Hagrid in needle felt, and the Harry Potter characters in crochet (this past month).  I also just started sculpting HP minis in polymer clay for my Hagrid's hut.

Can I be in Gryffindor...or is everyone in Gryffindor, lol?

Thanks,
Kat

10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Mini Dobby amigurumi with pattern on: September 27, 2013 03:16:02 PM
Hi,
Thanks for the pattern!
Here's my mini house elf.  I modified the pattern a bit to give him a shorter nose, a fatter belly (I hope you don't mind). I also crocheted him a little sack to wear, and a sock to hold (he's just been given his freedom, lol).

The size was perfect, as I was looking for something that would fit with my other Harry Potter amis.
Thanks again!
