Swappers will craft and send items to their swap partner that are inspried by the band Bright Eyes.  ie lyrics, song titles, album cover artwork, drunken Conor etc.  I personally am all for creating lots of little things for my swap partner instead of something big and tedious so i'm not going to require the one big, two little items.  Talk with your partner instead and figure out what works for you two.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / green dotty wallet (my first wallet!!) on: March 19, 2006 03:21:06 PM
This is my first attempt at a wallet.  I've been thinking of making one for about a month now, so today I finally went ahead and tried it.  It holds a little Moleskine paperback notebook.  I'm not really into using a date planner, but I do like making lists and stuff, so this was perfect for me  Wink.  And I made several pockets for cards, because I seem to have a lot.  It took freaking forever to iron the pleats for the card pockets, and the pockets got kind of tilted toward the bottom  Sad  There's also a pocket for bills, I wish I had the patience to put in a zippered pocket for coins...  oh well.

3  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / cupcake help? on: March 17, 2006 08:33:08 PM
I started this shirt, but I'm confused on row 8.
it says i need to "hd2tog in next 2 sts"

"Hdc2tog: (yo, insert hook in next st, yo, draw yarn through st) twice, yo, draw yarn through 5 sts on hook"

does this mean that a hdc2tog takes up 2 stitches?  or is a hdc2tog done all on one stitch?
will all this end up adding/subtracting stitches??

i'm not really sure what i'm supposed to be ending up with here on this row, and your help would be grealy appreciated!!
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / how to start a scarf? on: March 07, 2006 10:15:45 PM
So I've decided I'm teaching myself to crochet.
I'm pretty sure I finally understand the single crochet, so I'd like to try a scarf.

Do you crochet it lengthwise or widthwise?
In other words, shoud I make a foundation chain of 200 or 15?
It's all one color, so I'm not planning to make stripes either way, but I was just wondering if one way is easier to work than the other.

Thanks!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / matchy-match on: March 02, 2006 09:53:16 PM
maybe this topic goes here?? (sorry for posting twice)

so today i bought 2.5 yards of this really great fabric...  it's cream with little light aqua polkadots and even tinier black polkadots.

when i found it i was like YES!!! this is the exact color scheme i've been wanting to make my room!

but now the question is what should i make with the fabric, like a few different things to tie the room all in together matchy-match like.

i was thinking curtains (i only have one window), a pillowcase...

any other ideas??

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Bright Eyes Swap on: February 25, 2006 08:27:59 PM
I've noticed lots of you seem to love Bright Eyes and Conor as much as I do.
I don't think there has been a swap dedicated to this band but I think it would be terriffic!

What do you think??
