i just received the most awesome package from juliel85!

i'm expecting my first baby in january, and she made him some adorable little booties:

the photo doesn't really do them justice - the green is a lovely warm forest green, and the brown is such a pretty shade of chocolate. they are going to look so cute on my little one!

these beautiful coasters were also part of the package:

they are sitting on our coffee table right now, and i know they're going to get a lot of use!

julie also sent some beautiful teacup cards, and a lovely long letter which i am looking forward to sitting down and replying to in the next few days.

ok, so midnight has received her parcel from me, and i'm sure she's going to post pics, but i am too excited, and i'm jumping the gun...

i hand-pieced the whole thing, including some hand embroidered hexxies with teacup, teapot, and cupcakes.








the interior had several 'pages' of felt for needles, secured with buttons. there was also a little pocket.


midnight and i have very similar taste, so it was fun to put some extras together. i basically thought about what i would like, and went with that! XD
i also included a pair of my handmade felt hairclips.

i received a beautiful package from midnight this afternoon!

inside was a gorgeous needle book, with ribbons and lace on the outside...


... and divine buttery-yellow felt inside.


she also included a matching wrist pincushion which is just so sweet.

and as if that weren't enough, a charm necklace, with a teacup and teapot!


she wrote a lovely card (from the same range as the one i sent her, which is a funny coincidence!), and included some sweet treats.


all in all, i have to say that this parcel is one of the nicest things that has ever turned up in my letter box. thank you, midnight, you have been a lovely swap partner. i hope you love your package as much as i love mine!

my package from Zombie_Queen arrived today! the poor thing had to send a second time because the first parcel got lost!

it was 41c (105f) today, so everything was quite liquified, so it went straight into the fridge to re-solidify!
my partner and i have started nomming things now, and they are none the worse for their ordeal!

there were also treats for my beloved kitties, including crocheted toys with catnip in them!

and all our yummy morsels (we love the coconut cookies - my partner is trying to work out how she can bake them

thank you so much Zombie_Queen - this was a wonderful treat, and well worth the wait.

i was a swap angel for this one, and thought i'd post pics of what i made since my partner may not have had time to do so.

she likes reading, so i made her an embroidered bookmark:




she also likes sewing so i made her a needle book:


i also sent her a teacup, some embroidery floss, a copy of peppermint magazine, and some sweets (including bubblegum, which she said was her favourite flavour).

you guys, these needle books are AMAZING!

meanwhile, i am back. my mummy is ok, and i am glad to be home with my gf, my cats, my doggie, and my sewing machine!

i made this tiny embroidered aquarium for my bff who is a marine biologist. it was fun to design and stitch!

i received from EkkaGrrl today! she sent ages ago, but it took it's sweet time finding it's way here to the southern hemisphere!

the journal was AWESOME. it included so many beautiful details from her life - drawings by her kids, and cute things they said, a fortune from a fortune cookie, pictures of her craft, inspiring quotes, and snapshots from her daily life (both photographed and written!).

she also included some beautiful beaded snowflakes, which i am going to hang in the window.

thank you for sharing your life with me EkkaGrrl, i'm truly honoured, and i'm  excited about staying snail-mail buddies!
