Don't worry, amethyst6- I think we all have swap moments like that... where things don't go how we want and we swear our heads off at them, or simply sit and cry. I'll bet you learned a lot with all your mess-ups... which will make your completed ones that much better
Thanks, PirateColey. Yeah, I think I did learn a couple things here and there. I mainly decided to keep it simple and try to incorporate things I know how to work with. I just hope my partners like their things. That's the most important part to me.
I love the last bracelet! The contrast colors really pop! It looks like maybe 2 rows of right angle weave using a different bead for one 'side' ? are the pearls and crystals different sizes?? its gorgeous!
Thank you very much for the compliment. I'm glad you like it. Yes, I do believe it was a RAW variation. I got this pattern out of a book who's title escapes me at the moment. As far as the sizes of the pearls and crystals, I used a 4mm firepolish crystal and a 4mm Swarovski pearl. Both are the same size. Sorry I took so long to respond to your question.. Take care and have a good day.
Hello everyone. I just wanted to check in and let you know I'm still with you. I have finally completed all my inchies and ATC's. This is after much, much kicking, screaming, throwing, and yes, even a sudden burst of tears and feeling like a total failure with my husband at my side telling me to calm down and try again... He is my fan club and my hand holder and ego boost when I need one.. So, after scrapping many tries they are done. Now, onto the dotees. I hope they prove to be easier than the other things so far. I have decided that paper crafting and I DO NOT get along at all. My hats off to all of you that do such fantastic work with the stuff. I have one side of one dotee done and I have two and a half left to go. Wish me luck... LOL...
Hello everyone. Just wanted to check in and let you know that I am still here. I will be getting started this week. I'm working on another swap at the same time in three mediums I've never done before so it's taking me a little while to get through that. Yeah, probably not the brightest idea but it's truly stretching my crafting skills. I have officially decided that paper crafting is not my friend. LOL. So, that is what's happening in my little corner of the world. Take care and have a great day. Tracy
I am ready to start - I mailed off many swaps yesterday and today.
So two questions for the group:
Next swap: 1 Dotee, 1 ATC, 1 Altered Puzzle Piece and 4 Inchies? Sounds good to me, although I will want to send my puzzle pieces out so they can be added to one of the many puzzles I have started. Yes, I LOVE this idea.
And, this is for everyone, but especially for my partners. All of you said it was okay to make the items randomly, they don't all have to be "your theme" dotee, ATC and inchies. But I am wondering if I make 6 leaf inchies, and 6 candy inchies, and 6 quilt inchies, and 6 zombie inchies - do you want your random to include your themes only, or can I go out of the box for some? Thanks and I am ITCHING to get started.
Smmarrt, It doesn't matter to me. You can go out of the box if you like.
You ladies have been so busy. I feel like a slacker. LOL. I really need to get my butt in gear. I have been experimenting when I can. My family has had two deaths in the last two weeks and tomorrow finds me at calling hours for the second one. I will be getting stuff done here ASAP. I will be on time, I promise. Not to worry.
Just finished stalking my partner and I will be getting busy here shortly. We too have had a death in the family and I have to go to calling hours tomorrow. So sorry about your loss, bubblegum_phoenix. This is the second loss we have had in the last two weeks in our family so these swaps are just what I need to get me through.
Thank you ladies for the advice on attaching hair. I appreciate it. I'm still in the planning phases and if I can stay out of the craft stores and just try to focus on something I might get somewhere. These inchie things and ATC's are going to be the death of me. I need to plot a direction and stay on it. That's the bad thing about exploring a new subject.. LOL.. You aren't sure which direction to go in and all of them look good.. Ah well, I will plug along.
And amethyst6, I just thread a needle with strands of yarn and sew it right to the head of the doll by looping it through and knotting it at the base...not sure if that makes sense to you lol! [/quote]
Hi mandykaye! Yes, that makes sense to me. Thank you very much for the info. I appreciate it.
