Here is a painting Ive been working on for some time. Its almost done, but i feel really stuck. I want to change it dramatically.

4  Extra, Extra! self-portrait in newspaper in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by red-and-blue on: May 25, 2010 10:34:29 AM
This is a self-portrait sculpture. I attempted making it to scale, it about 5 foot 7. Made entirely of newspaper and 11 rolls of clear packing tape. there are a few rocks in the boots, so it could stand by itself.

functioning pockets!

Thanks

5  Sitting, Waiting, Wasting... in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by red-and-blue on: May 25, 2010 09:45:51 AM
You know when you wait and wish for something that never actually happens, and you feel that you have foolishly held on the this hope for so long, that it has begun to decompose? This figure evolved from that idea

I think that a long, harsh winter has fueled many angst-filled concepts for me. Not to mention an intense lesson in pretension thanks to my first completed year of art school! So sometime while being trapped in-doors for months, I decided to play with my leftover childhood sculpey. This is what came out.

Probably not the clearest photos, but I obviously wanted to make good use any available real sunlight. Thanks for taking a look!
