Wow, I'm glad a thread this old resurfaced.  Now I really need to make one.  >.>  I particularly like the sleeves.
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: first sundress of the summer. on: July 05, 2010 10:49:09 PM
Something about your color choice and pattern choice make that dress look like distilled sunshine.  You should be proud, and the other girls at your school will be jealous.

(Side note:  ARGH RICH SOUTHERN SCHOOL SUNDRESS PHENOMENON.  But I'm secretly happy because it gives me a chance to make sundresses.  =)  )
23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Ophelia 'Wearable Art' Dress (Image heavy!) on: July 05, 2010 10:44:10 PM
Psh, screw the limits of assignments.  I'm sure it wound up being far and away better than anything the teacher had in mind when s/he had in mind when coming up with this assignment.  I'm left with one word--BEAUTIFUL.

P.S.  Lovely shade of green.
P.P.S.  Hamlet (the character) is a jerk-butt.  Oversimplifying things a bit, but still.  Good on you for honoring Ophelia.
24  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Beautiful Shirred Dress I Created Today..... on: July 05, 2010 10:33:12 PM
It's beautiful.  I know I would have loved a dress like that at that age--it's just *perfect* as a princess dress.
25  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Strawberry Cheesecake on: July 01, 2010 03:20:46 PM
I saw the picture and my first thought was, "That is the most delicious-looking set of friendship necklaces ever."  It actually does remind me of some of those friendship necklaces (8-year-old you and your best friend each keep half of a heart pendant), only classier.  And tastier.

That's such a cute dress, and you have no idea how much I applaud your efforts to teach someone to sew.  I've mostly been muddling along on my own (with the help of the internet), and I think it's great that this girl will have a teacher like you.
27  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: No title yet on: June 24, 2010 09:00:22 PM
Your anxiety is, well, positively breathtaking.

And while I sympathize with your anxiety and wish you didn't have to deal with it, I'm kind of perversely glad you're wrestling with it--it helps you create such stunning artwork.
28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Bathing suit fabric? on: June 23, 2010 09:23:41 PM
Since it looks like others have answered the more sewing-related side of your question, I'm going to suggest something that might be a little easier, if a little less fun.  I hear you on the busty+bathing suit issue, and I was all set to make one (since my sewing skills are mediocre, it'd probably have been a disaster) when I stumbled across http://www.figleaves.com/us/department.asp?dept=Outlet_Women_Swimwear&page=1&sortorderrequested=2&searchhandle_rhs=A%3doutlet+%7eB%3doutlet+%7eC%3d1%7eD%3d60%7eE%3d1%5e1%5e0%5e%7eG%3d11130%5e2%5e11137%5e2%7eK%3d4%7eL%3d1%7eM%3d3%7eN%3d6%7e&originalquery=Outlet%20&sort_order_rhs=&sort_order=2%202&selectpagesize=60%2060&size=&colouranswerselected=&spellercorrections=&hd=&match=&fid=&productid=&productcolour=.  They have some very cute underwire bikini tops in a *wide* range of sizes, and their prices (especially the clearance ones) aren't half bad.

But yeah.  Lycra.  Good luck in your sewing endeavor!
29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Upholstery Vest with Bone Buttons on: June 20, 2010 06:50:59 PM
Cute.  I've had my eye on making a vest for quite some time.  What pattern did you use/did you use one?  It fits you beautifully.

Learning experiences are always good.  =)  Your garter is cute--what method did you finally wind up using?
