GUTTED I missed sign up for this swap - what a fab idea.  Last year was my first NaNo and I loved it - good luck all, will be stalking the gallery x

I have received, and feeling a very lucky craftstress right now!!!!

Robinpich picked my tree theme (building up a vertible forest of trees now - and love them all) - this one is a very welcome addition to the family.....

the technquie she used is on this blog - makeanddogirl.com - which she very kindly supplied me with, think I may have to have a go at it myself.  It has a lovely textural feel to it and not sure how to photgraph it to show properly - but the paint over the top is in heart shapes.

It's LOVELY - thank you so much, this has been an absolutely marvellous swap and despite getting so stressed out in November I have really enjoyed it and will sign up for round two when it comes.

thanks - Scarlett x

Looks like I'm going to end up going right the wire on this one - but they WILL both be posted by Monday at the latest - have cleared space over the weekend to get the finishing touches done.

Hello lovely swap people - just checking in and sending you warm waves from wet and rainy England!!

Been a tricky week this week - and I'm starting to think that doing swaps in the same month as nanowrimo was probably not my best idea - but not at the jumping out of the window stage yet.

I've still got a few bits to do on my first piece and then start on my second - and I'm heartened when I now see that final sendout isn't until Dec 3rd.  I hope I won't have to take it right to the wire - but it's nice to know I can be a little bit kind to myself, when I'm feeling rubbishy about having neglected crafting this week!!

Wow - I love your work WingsofClay - both are amazing, I especially love the kitty one (being a feline lover myself) - a very thoughtful piece.

Like Robinpich - I too have received from the remarkable Stepharella and what can I say - other than AMAZEBALLS!!!  Absolutely love it ..............

Not sure my photo does it justice really.  I asked for something uplifting (talk about a vague request) and Steph has written out this lovely poem in the branches and knots of the tree - it's beautiful.  She also picked up on the fact that I love trees and nature, and the colours are so lovely and soft, but warm - it manages to be muted but not dingy (if that makes any sense).  Is already up on my wall of art, where I can see it every day.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH INDEED x

Just checking in after my lovely week of holidays last week.

I've received - a stupendous piece of art - just about to pop over to the gallery and post there.

I'm almost ready to post out my first piece, just a couple of finishing touches left to do then will be on it's way.

I have ideas for my second piece - just wanted to get the first one done first, in a bit of an analy retentive methodical way that seems to be upon me at the moment.

really loving this swap!

Just checking in - I'm afraid I haven't started yet - but the kids are on half-term holls from school next week and I have a week off work (woop woop) so planning to really crack on then, in the meantime having huge fun dreaming of lots of fantastic ideas, that probably look much better in my imagination than they ever would in reality!!!
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: More Art, Less Craft 6x6 canvas swap Gallery! on: October 22, 2012 02:34:43 PM
I have received - a most beautiful and perfect for me canvas from the immensely talented - Alwaysinmyroom.  She has clearly understood me, as without me telling her, she picked on of my most favourite themes, the noble and every wonderful Flamingo.  Here it is in all it's gorgeousness.....

It's painted, it's drawn, it's got bits stuck on it - it's very textured, and most importantly - I truly love it!!!

thank you very much indeed xxx

I'm so happy you liked it Alwaysinmyroom and it arrived safely.  The heather on the moors is truly spectacular, for an area that is so barren, windswept and devoid of life (apart from the odd sheep) it always amazes me how vivid the colours are with the different purples of the heather and the green of the gorse and if you go to just the right spot you can see the distant sea sparkling way off.  Very different to a carribean or tropical type sea - but maybe because I've grown up with it I love it so much.

Can't WAIT for my art to arrive, I'm checking every day and ready for the postman - hopefully won't be too much longer!!
