1  UNITED STATES / Virginia / Quilting for Charity--VA Organizations? on: February 02, 2007 11:15:24 AM
Hey VAians!

I recently acquired a whole mess of fabric for free and I have been sitting on it for a while--not knowing what to do.

Then I realized I could make a bunch of easy quilts for charity. I know there are a bunch of national organizations that take quilt donations, like Quilting 4 Kids, but I was hoping to do something a little more homegrown.

Does anyone know of any Richmond (or surrounding areas) organizations that are already established that I could give my quilts to?

Does anyone have ideas for specific hospitals (and the like) that I could donate to if there are no existing Richmond groups?

Thanks in advance for your help! ;-)

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Homestar Runner Round 2 on: August 29, 2006 10:15:52 AM
I see that there was a Homestar Runner swap previously. Is there any interest in a Round 2?
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Pug Swap/Dog Swap Sign Ups Now Open!! on: August 16, 2006 06:46:09 AM
I've started noticing that several of us Craftsters have pugs, which made me start thinking... How many would be interested in a pug swap? You wouldn't have to actually own a pug. I know that I was obsessed with the dogs long before I actually found Bogey, but the swap would be a whole Puggy theme.

Yeah? No? Let's hear it.  Grin

Edit**Is this too specific? It could be a puppy/dog swap. I just happen to love my pug. ;-)**

6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Bath Melts/Cocoa Butter/Citric Acid ? on: July 08, 2006 10:38:20 AM
I have searched everywhere and I can not find 100% citric acid or 100% cocoa butter.
I have, however, found Kool-Aid packets (where citric acid is the first ingredient).
As for the cocoa butter-would a cocoa butter lotion work? ie Palmers Cocoa Butter or one of those body butters that are everywhere...

Please help-I have no experience with making home beauty products and this is for a gift...I have read on craftster that I can order these things online-but I'm sort of working against the clock.
