2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / I need your help!! on: June 26, 2010 09:07:25 AM
I'm making a lush polymer clay bracelet for a friend. I made bubble bars like the comforter, Karma, Creamy Candy, Ma Bar (http://www.lush.ca/shop/products/bath/bubble-bars/) and a bunch of others.

But!! I don't know if I should make them into beads, by poking a hole all the way through, or put eye pins in them.

If you really need a picture I'll add one, but I'd prefer not to just in cause my friend is looking around craftster Cheesy

Thanks in advance!!!

6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / A mess load of projects finally done for my little sister :) Part 1 of 2 on: June 15, 2010 10:10:25 AM
Hi everyone,

This is my first post in the Polymer Clay: Completed projects, I have recently been asking a lot of questions in the discussion and question board associated with this board.

My Little sister (Of 10) loves that I've gotten into Polymer Clay, because that means that I'll make her some things occasionally. She was recently searching around for Polymer clay food blogs and found a bunch of them (Mostly: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=349132.0). Anyway, she made a word document and copied and pasted a bunch of pictures, sent them to me in an email and said " When you get the chance, could you make some of these?" -- She didn't include websites, So I can't give credit to the people that originally came up with them  Cry

I tried to make them as best I could, after I finished with all my exams. (Still waiting to get the results back, fingers crossed I do well Cheesy). I first made all of the actual polymer clay figures, and had them sitting around in a shelving unit for a bit, because I had NO idea of what to put them on. I then thought a few nights ago when I couldn't go to sleep. CARDBOARD!!! In the morning, I took some cardboard and either covered it in Aluminum Foil, or coloured paper.
Here are some of the things, she asked me to make........

The first was breakfast(ish):

Blueberry pancakes, with syrup, and more pancakes on the side. I actually burned the blueberries on the pancake so before I give them to my sister, I hope to remake that one.

Dessert:

Pretty much just: Cookies, eclair, muffins, and other goodies Cheesy

Cookies, that my sister actually made:

She was very proud with how they turned out, and so was I!! We used paint for the frosting, the only problem was it bubbled a bit while we baked it, but hey, It was a learning experience!!

Lemon chocolate cake, baking in progress:

I gotta work on the glueing part, that part didn't go the best, but I hope with more projects like this, I'll improve.

Icing the cakes:

I was a bit disappointed with the 'icing' in the bowls, it caved in a bit when it dried overnight.

That's all for now Cheesy

I have a few more projects, but I think I'll save that all for another thread.

Comments are always appreciated!!! Cheesy
7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / making Cups and Plates from Polymer clay, or Air Dry Fimo??? HELP!!!!! on: June 06, 2010 12:45:56 PM
I was reading someone's blog (I forget the name right off hand  Embarrassed) and they had this: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8gMeeqmpuss/TAqg3qYMIBI/AAAAAAAAALE/Ome-RX2Wxa0/s1600/1.JPG

and the blog post was about making plates and cups and stuff.

Is this the only real way to make the plates or could you just use regular polymer clay?
8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / What polymer clay colours do you go through the most??? on: June 03, 2010 05:26:33 PM

9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Is the Pasta machine worth the money??? on: May 31, 2010 08:29:15 AM
I've been to Michaels many times and have looked at the pasta machine. I've heard mixed reviews on how it works and stuff.

What do you think of it?!
