1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Happiness is a Liberty phone-cosy... (with link to tutorial) on: Today at 05:59:53 AM

I love it when a project comes together as planned, especially when it involves a bit of 'sewing magic' (that's the term my son uses to describe the moment when you turn your sewing right-side-out and suddenly it looks finished). This little phone case makes me happy whenever I use it, so that's a lot of happiness!

Here's a link to the tutorial - sorry, I haven't copied it all to Craftster as there are quite a lot of photos.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Sorbetto top variations - from the fabulous free download by Colette patterns on: May 19, 2013 06:24:12 AM
I can share your frustration, Loukr! I lost a lot of baby weight after making these and they're all a bit billowy now... I've managed to salvage a couple by making matching shorts (I used a Burdastyle pattern as I wasn't quite brave enough to go for the mini-bloomer on the Collette website) and using them as pyjamas. Maybe that might work for you?
3  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Re: Oliver + s Digital Sailbot Top Pattern on: May 12, 2013 02:14:59 PM
Lovely photos! Thanks for the review. I'm a big fan of Oliver+S, though haven't ever made this pattern and am now very tempted...

I'd have to agree about the paper patterns being better than digital - even a tiny glitch in the printing causes such huge disruption to the pattern pieces.
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A birthday bonanza... on: April 14, 2013 06:58:04 AM
... of dolly sewing. So small and quick and fun!

I loved making the micro-nappies and bibs - great for using up scraps. In some ways they were a bit too small, because they barely made a dent in my stash! I hope to be doing this for some other upcoming birthdays, though, so will hope to use up a bit more fabric (and make way for new!).

Eek! Love the toothy grin!
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Baby doll babygro (with a link to the pattern) on: February 09, 2013 12:30:05 PM

I've been sewing a gender-neutral wardrobe for my daughter's doll, who has just acquired a name and turns out to be a 'Ben'. Who'd have thought?

I'm loving a bit of quick and slapdash sewing, and daughter likes waking up from her naptime to find that Ben has another outfit!

Ben is a 12" doll, so needs only teeny clothes - link below to pattern and instructions:

(Not sure if this is the right place for this, or if it should be on the sewing board? - please redirect me if that's the case)
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Toddler's sleeveless coat (because sleeves only get in the way) on: February 06, 2013 01:56:27 PM
Lovely! You're so right about the sleeves...
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Christmas Present: The Dress She Designed Herself on: January 21, 2013 06:11:53 AM
Perfect!
I love the feathers too, but can see why they might need to be optional!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / A January stash-bust dress on: January 21, 2013 06:09:54 AM

Something about taking down the Christmas decoration makes me want to carry on de-cluttering - and this fabric had to be used quickly, or my daughter would have grown too big for anything I could possibly have made from such a tiny scrap!

Blogged here (because there's always more than one story behind any piece of sewing!)
