So I made the spiderweb capelet last night, while half-heartedly watching the Super Bowl. I thought I did everything right; the lace looks good, with few mistakes (and those aren't noticeable). But then I tried it on. Somehow, I ended up adding several stitches over the course of making it, so that the top is almost the same size as the bottom (i.e., no shoulder shaping). Granted, I failed to count my stitches on the shaping rows, because I was lazy, but I didn't think it looked TOO out of whack until I saw the finished piece.
Has anyone else done this? I'm going to reconfigure it to make a different kind of shawl, but I want to make one that looks normal, too!
