Supposed to be sewing this afternoon-need to finish our garb before July! Ran across some oil pastels my sister gave me this spring. Got a teensy bit distracted and... Poof!

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Jack Skellington scarf on: February 16, 2012 08:47:02 PM
Thanks for all your kind words! There was no pattern, I just sort of made it on a whim. I ran across a lovely skein of bulky wool blend yarn in a dark heather grey and I had to take it home with me. It should be pretty easy to recreate if you'd like to give it a try!

The scarf itself is done with the tunisian stitch. The border along the long edge is a simple single crochet edging alternating black and white worsted weight cotton yarn. The short edge border uses the same simple border in solid black.  Jack's face is just a simple circle in the white yarn, with details stitched in black.

Have fun and post pics if you make your own! Happy crafting ;-)
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Steampunk pendant on: January 12, 2012 02:17:04 PM
Proof that it is perfectly acceptable to destroy old, useless items in the name of creating new, useful things! Steampunk pendant made from the components of an old watch, some broken jewelry, and one lone bellydance coin.

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Jack Skellington scarf on: January 12, 2012 02:01:34 PM
My dear younger brother used to have a sweet Nightmare Before Christmas scarf with Jack on itbut, sadly, he lost it. So I, being the thoughtful big sister, decided to make him a new one!
