1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / activity blanket on: December 19, 2010 09:50:57 PM
does anyone have any tips or ideas on how to do an activity blanket for a child?  My sister-in-law wanted one made for my nephew for Christmas I have 5 days to make one...like how to even start it..I have the backing done its like a soft fleece and then the front I just want to be cotton with different blocks that have things to entertain a 9month old, like a block with zippers, a block with snaps, a block with buttons...kind of like an activity book, but this will be a blanket. Any tips on this would be great because I'm clueless as to where to even start. Like how would you attach a block to the solid cotton backing without having your salvage edges showing? Someone please help.  Huh
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / pop/soda/beverage remainders swap on: November 15, 2010 03:03:58 AM

Okay, so tonight I was up late sick  Cry and thought of this idea.  A swap that we strictly use remainders of beverages, plus others if need be.  Such as pop cap bracelets, soda can mirrors, purses, pop tab bracelets, hair pieces, magnets, etc.
I would think a fairly small swap, probably 3-4points? You guys think this would have some ppl interested...anyone?  Plus one thing that would be neat, low shipping for one, for two if you swap with someone out of the country you live in you may get some neat caps/cans/stuff.
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Summer purse+reversible on: August 11, 2010 04:43:49 PM
I made this cute purse out of some sale fabric I picked up at JoAnns and sewed it together for my mom I kinda don't want to give it up it's so cute lol, It ended up being reversible even though I didn't inted it to be.

this was the inside with two pockets, my fiance was a champ helping me photograph lol, the handles were made out of the outside fabric, I don't know if you can tell but the inside is red n has tiny white polka dots.

The outside

Just to show how much it would hold, it'd hold probably three or four of those books.
C&C welcome!! Thanks! Smiley
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Nutty Pillow on: July 25, 2010 10:04:02 PM
So my mother-in-law's birthday was this past week and she desperately needed some new pillows for her couch.  Her and the father-in-law love squirrels and so this is what I came up with.

Thats a close up of the squirrel and nut applique that I did, they are done in a dark brown velvet, and outlined with a tan thread. Sorry the pictures are a little blurry they were taken with a cell phone.

Thats the full front, excuse the lack of stuffing I ran out and the fiance hasn't gotten me more to fill it up yet lol  Cheesy

And the back, Hope you all like it...C&C welcome!  Cool
