11  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / needle felting - brooch, flower on: December 15, 2005 03:43:11 AM
I am usually found on the spinning board, but have just started needle felting and I love it.

This is about my 3rd thing I have made, not including a couple of balls and flowers I tried first!

It is going to be a brooch for a friend.  I really like how easy it is to make something so pretty from needle felting.  I also made this:

A flower!

Am I doing it right do you think?
12  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Deadly on: December 11, 2005 02:04:40 PM
I just have to share my newest yarns!  It is the first time I spun a few yarns under one theme and I am really pleased with them.  I have lumped them altogether on one picture so they are easier to see.

The 7 deadly sins:

What do you think?  If you want to see more detail they are all up on my website!
13  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Fibre Friday? on: December 10, 2005 01:17:18 AM
I posted a new topic yesterday and it has disappeared???  Have I been dreaming?  I noticed that all the posts I read yesterday are showing up as if I hadn't read them...what's going on?Huh

Anyway, here was my FF:

Boo! - this one is so fun and bright!

Dancing Lady:

Fuschia Buttons: I am a bit wary of this one as I had only threaded the buttons on and then after I had spun it (typically) I realised I should have tied them on for more security.  I am going to crochet a bag or something out of it and make sure I crochet them in well.  I am planning to make more yarn with buttons in after Christmas though!  It looks really nice.

Thanks!
14  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Look what someone made! on: November 24, 2005 04:08:31 PM
I have to share this as I am so impressed! A friend had bought my butterscotch yarn and look what she made:

I hope she doesn't mind me showing this off but I am so happy to see something so lovely being made with my yarn!

15  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Manic Monday Yarn... on: November 21, 2005 09:42:47 AM
I missed Fibre Friday - bah I am rubbish these days - so I decided to be daring and start a new one.  Manic Monday!

Here is my contribution:

Butterscotch: Merino, Corriedale and a few sequins thrown in for good measure!

Angelic: I finally got round to spinning the Angora I have had for AGES!  I spun it with some Falkland and it si so soft and fluffy!

Finally, Rainbow Bright: Merino and Corriedale in all 7 colours of the rainbow!

What do you think?  What have you spun lately?
16  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Candy floss! on: October 27, 2005 09:05:36 AM
So, we recently had a fair here in Hull, UK.  Cunningly called Hull Fair!  I took some photos and one was of candy floss:

I thought it would make great yarn...obviously not the candy floss but the colours!  So here is the yarn equivalent:

18  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Advice about Jacquard dyes on: September 28, 2005 09:14:59 AM
Hi, I have just bought a load of Jacquard dyes from Ebay and when I got them all the jars are half full and feel very light.  Is this right?  The seller claims that this is how they are and that they have just settled and are sold by weight not by a full jar.

Can you please advise?
19  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Bit of fun... on: September 15, 2005 02:26:43 AM
Please can you tell me, which picture you like from these 6:

Please list them in order of preference, (1 being your favourite, 6 your least favourite) eg:
1:D
2:A
etc...

It is for a competition between me and my Dad, so please help out.

Thanks!
