1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / From white to Blue Lagoon on: January 17, 2014 12:27:44 PM
I recently discovered just how easy it was to repaint my kitchen aid stand mixer. It only cost me 15.00 in spray paint.

The tools: Screw drivers both Philips and flat head
               Spray paint - satin lagoon from rust-oleum  and crystal clear enamel also from rust-oleum

I took the top part from the base, removed the back that covers the motor and all metal that was held on by a screw. Then I taped the pieces that I didn't want painted and propped that bad boy up.

When everything was done drying * i gave it about 5 hours* I put everything back together and made sure my mixer still turned on lol

I cant seem to get a good photo of the finished color. It always turns out really blue but it looks more like the during pictures then my finished one.

Thanks for looking!

Thank you for the love.

No sanding just grey primer spray paint and the cream colored spray paint.  Grin

I found this beauty in the trash and decided I absolutely HAD to have it.

{Please note mandatory cat in photo}

Now my 1st idea was to paint it cream and decoupage this really pretty wrapping paper onto the top but I was limited with my supplies ..... grey primer spray paint and glossy almond spray paint. So I tested it with 1 drawer and to my amazement it made this beautiful crackle and looked totally shabby chic. I also spray painted the hardware with a metallic black paint and now I have an awesome dresser I have no idea what to do with.

Thank you for looking! C&C always welcome.

I feel sorry for the person that breaks into your home during the Zombie Apocalypse and sees this. It will give them so much hope as zombie *possibly you or your loved ones* lumbers towards them. They'll think "Wow how convenient!" and rush towards it only to be disappointed by your magnificent craftsmanship. Lets hope he/she appreciates your hard work and skill as their brains are being devoured.
