1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Blue Earplugs on: September 17, 2011 03:16:26 AM
I got sick of my ugly earplugs which were discoloured from various things like paint so I thought I'd cover them in embroidery floss. I thought this would be an hour job.... but no this took me 5 hours, I couldn't wait to stop lol.

Thanks Smiley

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Fabric book cover help on: November 30, 2010 09:06:02 PM
Hey I have seen heaps of book covers made from fabric and I saw a nice suede fabric in the craft store the other day and I was wondering if it would be possible to turn that into a book cover?
I was also wondering to protected the fabric from the glue would it be best to use something like iron on interfacing?
I've never made books before, its for a valentines day gift so I'm giving myself a good amount of time to figure it all out.

Should mention this will be a hard cover book.
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Set of three paintings. on: November 24, 2010 01:23:25 AM
Hey here is a set of small (20cm x 25cm) acrylic paintings on gallery wrapped canvas. I'm really loving this size, it's so much easier to do.
The blue piece sold the other day which I'm happy about Smiley

Thanks for looking.
6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Making christmas stockings on: November 17, 2010 02:23:34 PM
Hey I'm going to make Christmas stockings for my boyfriend, his son and I. I haven't sewn in so long, I'm going to do it by hand because my mother gave away her sewing machine (crazy lady).
My inspiration is the one on the far right without the bells.

From http://www.marthastewart.com/article/jingle-bell-stockings

They've used felt and I'm wondering if it is a specific type of felt, I've personally never used felt before. I noticed in the comments somebody had issues with using hole punches on the felt.
How would you create the large scallops without scallop scissors? I'm thinking of just drawing them on with the grid.
I'm also I little confused by the cuff instructions, possibly just the way its been worded and how I'd imagine doing it myself, I'm such a novice.

If there is any tips or help you can give me I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks Smiley

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Melting Crayon problem on: October 25, 2010 03:24:14 AM
Hey, so I thought make cool melted crayons would be easy and a great gift for my partners son but I'm finding when I put the broken crayons (in a silicone muffin tray) they split. Like the way floats to the top, it makes the crayons look super ugly Sad
I'm wondering if anybody else has had this issue, could it just be the cheap crayons I bought (ok well they're cheap for what I found, $2 for 9 jumbo crayons seems a rip off compared to bargains you wonderful people get).
I'm really disappointed, I've seen so many people have such great success and was hoping to make some as a xmas gift, at this rate it'll have been cheaper to buy nice crayons lol.

If you have any tips or help it would be greatly appreciated Smiley
9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Pichu inspired make-up on: July 12, 2010 06:53:57 PM
This is kind of old but I'd thought I'd share it with you all. I did this for a competition awhile back.

For my eyes I used:
-Urban decay primer potion
-Mac bright sunshine eyeshadow
-Mac carbon eyeshadow
-Mac crystal avalanche eyeshadow
-Mac coppering eyeshadow
-Mac blacktrack fluidline
-Some cheap white eyeliner
-Great lash mascara (black)

-I have no idea what foundation, I'm actually a lot paler than what I look there (MUFE 115 is my best match)
-Nars orgasm
-Nars albatross

-vaseline, I have allergies to the majority of lip products

Unfortunately where I live now it seems pretty much impossible to get a good photo of make-up so I don't play around with it as much as I used to and would like to.

10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Ambiguous art, a few paintings. on: May 20, 2010 10:47:27 AM
Hey I'm new here and thought I should share some pieces of work I've done. I originally joined to learn more about crafts which I have great, thank you Smiley

Anyway I've been painting in my current style for over 5 years now and hope to explore art more, this place has really helped me come up with heaps of creative ideas.

Anyway here we go, I'll hopefully post some more soon... I've been a slacker lately Tongue

These are on canvas panels

And these are two animals I painted on paper.

Thanks for looking Smiley
