1  Re: Blue Earplugs in Completed Projects by AmbiguousArtist on: September 17, 2011 05:36:12 AM
Thanks, I've seen both knitted and crocheted earplugs and loved them but I can't knit or crochet so had a go at this.

wicket-poo, yes my earplugs have the split, I used the whole floss bundle and pulled out a length of the whole cord from end to end then added approximately 6-7 times the length of the cord from the start of the split to the earbud. I tied the floss leaving the length next to the cord and started knotting over both the cord and floss. I ended up using 2 8m embroidery floss bundles for this, when I was about to run out I just tied the new bundle over the 2 bundles and cord, after a few knots I trimmed off the short floss and continued knotting as normal.
Here is a basic visual explanation, not sure if my instructions are overly clear lol.

2  Blue Earplugs in Completed Projects by AmbiguousArtist on: September 17, 2011 03:16:26 AM
I got sick of my ugly earplugs which were discoloured from various things like paint so I thought I'd cover them in embroidery floss. I thought this would be an hour job.... but no this took me 5 hours, I couldn't wait to stop lol.

5  Set of three paintings. in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by AmbiguousArtist on: November 24, 2010 01:23:25 AM
Hey here is a set of small (20cm x 25cm) acrylic paintings on gallery wrapped canvas. I'm really loving this size, it's so much easier to do.
The blue piece sold the other day which I'm happy about Smiley

Thanks for looking.

6  Making christmas stockings in Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions by AmbiguousArtist on: November 17, 2010 02:23:34 PM
Hey I'm going to make Christmas stockings for my boyfriend, his son and I. I haven't sewn in so long, I'm going to do it by hand because my mother gave away her sewing machine (crazy lady).
My inspiration is the one on the far right without the bells.

From http://www.marthastewart.com/article/jingle-bell-stockings

They've used felt and I'm wondering if it is a specific type of felt, I've personally never used felt before. I noticed in the comments somebody had issues with using hole punches on the felt.
How would you create the large scallops without scallop scissors? I'm thinking of just drawing them on with the grid.
I'm also I little confused by the cuff instructions, possibly just the way its been worded and how I'd imagine doing it myself, I'm such a novice.

If there is any tips or help you can give me I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks Smiley

8  Pichu inspired make-up in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by AmbiguousArtist on: July 12, 2010 06:53:57 PM
This is kind of old but I'd thought I'd share it with you all. I did this for a competition awhile back.

For my eyes I used:
-Urban decay primer potion
-Mac bright sunshine eyeshadow
-Mac carbon eyeshadow
-Mac crystal avalanche eyeshadow
-Mac coppering eyeshadow
-Mac blacktrack fluidline
-Some cheap white eyeliner
-Great lash mascara (black)

Face:
-I have no idea what foundation, I'm actually a lot paler than what I look there (MUFE 115 is my best match)
-Nars orgasm
-Nars albatross

Lips:
-vaseline, I have allergies to the majority of lip products

Unfortunately where I live now it seems pretty much impossible to get a good photo of make-up so I don't play around with it as much as I used to and would like to.

Thanks for looking Smiley

Hey I'm new here and thought I should share some pieces of work I've done. I originally joined to learn more about crafts which I have great, thank you Smiley

Anyway I've been painting in my current style for over 5 years now and hope to explore art more, this place has really helped me come up with heaps of creative ideas.

Anyway here we go, I'll hopefully post some more soon... I've been a slacker lately Tongue

These are on canvas panels

And these are two animals I painted on paper.

Thanks for looking Smiley
