1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Daphne Blake(from Scooby Doo) Costume Pattern needed! on: July 08, 2011 04:32:45 PM
I am going to an 80's costume party in two weeks and I would like to dress up as Daphne. Problem is, I can't find a plain purple, long-sleeved dress to save my life! Anyone have a pattern of a simple dress pattern that can work for a size 0-2?
2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Costumes for a production of "Queen Lear" [picture heavy!] on: July 08, 2011 12:19:36 PM
The community college I just graduated from recently put on an adapted version of Shakespeare's "King Lear" which the director decided to change to "Queen Lear". I had the privilege of making majority of the costumes for the play. This is what I have been up to for the past semester and the reason for my lapse in posts...Here are the finished products!

(Made just the vest for this look)

(Made just the red jacket)

http://i53.tinypic.com/23mrblc.jpg

(Made everything seen here, besides belt and necklace)

(Just made the tunic)

(Made tunic and belt only)

(Made light green vest only)

(Only made tabbard-reversible)

(Tabbard in different colors)

(Only made creme tabbard with sleeves)

(Only made the blue vest)

All garments were done using a pattern(most were altered). I only had about 2 1/2 weeks to complete all of these, and boy was it a challenge! This was my first time ever doing something like this, but it definitely made me a better, and faster!, sewer.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My art-turned-t-shirt! on: July 08, 2011 11:54:23 AM
This is gorgeous! You should really think about doing a line of art-esque t-shirts. They would definitely sell.
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / D.I.Y Laptop case on: July 07, 2011 04:21:27 PM
Insipired to make this case after seeing something similar in the book "One Yard Wonders". I made this case for a friend of mine who has two family members with breast cancer. They have both survived the cancer, and she continues to fully support the cure.

I made a step by step tutorial on my blog, which you can view tomorrow here:

5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Batman and Bat Woman capes on: November 02, 2010 11:44:21 AM
For Halloween, my boyfriend and I decided to dress up as Batman and Bat Woman. I ended up making the capes for both of us. Here they are!

The fake fake leather wasnt too bad to work with, and for the yellow lining I just used cotton fabric.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Floral Tank Top Tutorial (IMG heavy) on: September 01, 2010 10:32:29 AM
A side note(that I should have put in the acutal tutorial) is, that if you do want to try this out, I would suggest NOT using cotton for your flowers. They will shrink and shrivel up in the wash and come out in small tiny clumps that do not resemble  flowers in the slightest. I found this out after I had washed mine. If you would still like to use cotton, then definately hand wash it. :]

The black dress is hot! I would wear that out in a heartbeat.
