1  Re: 4x6 Art swap Gallery of Greatness! in The Swap Gallery by rosyposie on: April 16, 2012 02:54:48 PM
KriSmith so glad you like your art!  (the hands/shadow art) It is actually a zinc plate etching print...I am not sure the actual technical name, but I really enjoyed the technique.

I received last week sometime but with grad school wrapping up for the semester just got the chance to post images.

I received this great panel of polymer clay tiles from KriSmith.  Some of them have impressions of music notes, leaves, and script.  Thanks so much!  I have never used polymer clay before.

I received a fantastic hoop from lancmaltby merging my loves of art deco and dinosaurs, and some of my favorite colors: teal and mustard.  Anyways, the pictures:

and a close up to see all of those lovely tiny stitches:

And him now at home with my one other hoop on my hoopla/tiny art wall:

Thanks so much lancmaltby for the lovely hoop!

3  Re: One Smallish Stuffie with a Function Gallery in The Swap Gallery by rosyposie on: February 10, 2012 02:35:08 PM
I received a fantastic package from Saint_Angel!

She made me a super cute little hedgehog zipper pull which I am currently using as a key chain because I can never find my keys in my bag and he is big and sticks out.  Also she made me an adorable dinosaur in my favorite colors, mustard and brown (he matches my bicycle).  He may just look like any old dinosaur stuffie with limbs that move attached by wonderful buttons but when you turn him around:

He's a pen holder!
So both my stuffie and my extra had a function and they are absolutely adorable.

Thanks so much Saint_Angel.

And a gratuitous cat shot because he was being very territorial about our new friends.

Woohoo!  Finished another project and it fits the challenge of random act of kindness for January!

Behold a giant beer ...pillow!

A little back story I guess, Red, father to one of my mom's good friends has been in the hospital for a few months.  I saw this pattern in the Son of Stitch 'n Bitch while working on another project and a light bulb went off!  He loves beer, and unfortunately they don't let you have any in the hospital...so why not make some hospital friendly beer!  He loved it!  And it really brightens up the room of drab whiteness.

I've finished two projects on the list so far.  One WIP from last year, a miniature modified version of the weekender to be used as a lunch box for two:

It has outside pockets on each side and a top strap.  I also used insulating interfacing to keep things cold or hot as they may need.
The person I gave it to also likes space so I lined the inside with some space fabric I found in my stash:

As you may notice I ran a little short on space so I substituted some patch work with the exterior piping fabric to make it work.

The other project  I finished was a mini patchwork wallet.  Leslieshappyheart had sent me some scrap of black and white material to play around with scrappy patchwork.  This is what I came up with:

The bow was a leftover from a vintage piece I had modified and I thought it added just the right splash of color.  I made the wallet with a big pocket for cash and then two facing pockets for cards.

I feel like I'm off to a great start on my list, I just hope I can keep up the momentum.

Received from lizardsally as a needer and jennden as a giver.  Such an exciting way to come home from a long trip.
First lizardsally:

She sent me so much fabric all in a medium flat rate...excellent packing skills.  I am so excited to use all of these things.  You can send me fabrics anytime Wink

And in addition to all the lovely fabrics there were cute little post-its on a bunch of them to give each a little background and suggestions for use.

And Now From Jennden:

An adoreable pumpkin and autumn guy decoration and some large buttons!  I've already put both autumn decorations up although with the snow outside it feels a lot more like winter than fall.

and the autumn guy's mouth is a tiny pocket!

Thank you both so much, you are great swappers and sorry for the delay receiving!
