1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / spring dress! inspired by target dresses. and an apron. on: April 10, 2010 06:01:15 PM
hello! man, i haven't posted any projects in forever! {and never in the clothing topic} yay for me!
anyway, i made this dress yesterday:

inspired by all those dresses at target with the knit top, wide elastic waist-band and skirt. i really like it.

i used an xl thrift store shirt to make the top, which i actually never attached to the bottom  Smiley so i guess it's really just a skirt.

a cute, comfy, springy skirt!
comments and critiques encouraged Smiley
and more details on my blog http://angelinaladawn.blogspot.com/2010/04/making-my-own-dress.html
thanks!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / "boobie prize" pasties! (slightly NSFW) on: August 31, 2009 06:45:43 PM
i made this for my best friends bachelorette party.  to break it down, we played a game and if she fullfilled all the requirements then she won the "boobie prize". it was a riot to make and even more fun when she opened it (she had no idea it was coming)!
i used an altoids tin (the pasties fit perfect inside)

on to the pictures:

the outside: (the colors for the party were black and pink)

bam! the inside:

here they are pulled out:

i printed out directions on how to adhere them to the skin and pasted it underneath them (you can't see it that well in the pics) hope you enjoyed!! it's good to be back Smiley
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / crayola cutter- a stenciler's dream?? on: December 03, 2006 07:39:16 PM
Has anyone seen the new crayola cutter?

http://www.crayola.com/canwehelp/products/cutter/index.cfm?mt=feat_cutter

I can't help but imagine how much it could help with cutting stencils! In fact, it looks like a dream come true!

The only problem i can see is that the website mentions that it just perferates the paper. Even so, I really want to try it!! (I only hope it can live up to the anticipation)
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / wedding party shirts! on: May 19, 2006 04:29:52 PM
ok, i'm brainstorming for ideas but seem to be coming up short! (maybe all the wedding plans are sucking my creativity dry!) i'm an avid stenciler (my friends and i ruitinely have "shirt parties" where we take over the living room and make shirts) so i want to make shirts for all our attendants to wear for the rehersal. (i've already figured out what me and my fiance's will look like)

i'm hoping to go with something more straightforward then just "bridesmaid" ect.... (something funny and clever or atleast cute)

anyone have any ideas?? i'd be so greatful!!
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / my japanese garden shirt on: September 22, 2005 07:27:00 PM
i made another shirt. very "japanese garden". i like it. i took one of my boyfriends long-sleeved shirts for it. (it was too small for him......fits me perfect!)

front: (in the lower left corner)

back:

i only took closer pictures so i wouldn't have to upload a whole bunch of pictures......i hope you like it! (the birds are my favorite.....)
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / my stencil-tatstic weekend....(4 shirts and 1 hoodie) on: September 12, 2005 05:41:34 PM
here are a couple shirts i did this weekend....sorry some of the pictures aren't so good...

for my boyfriend: (he picked the design) it's actually dark grey, and not black paint....

close up:(i stiched the black with embroidery floss, for something different, and each red dot is a splash of paint)

one for me!

for my friend: (who loves rhinos....)

close-up: (i was going for a really faint "imagination" bubble, so i used an transfer pen and only slightly ironed it on)

a ship stencil for my boyfriend's hoodie: 2 layer, but barely. (it was a pain and only possible because of freezer paper!)

and one more for me! (my favorite)

close-up: (there are bleeding issues, i still like it though, i may try to fix it with a sharpie...) and the lighting is terrible....

back, left side sholder:

anyway, it was a productful weekend, i hope you enjoy!!
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / elephant and storm trooper shirts! (obviously i was not working with a theme...) on: April 02, 2005 09:01:29 PM
ok, these are the second and third shirts i've made stenciling....hope you like!
for my sisters birthday (cause she likes elephants):

and the back (cause she has a big booty):

and this one is for me cause i'm a star wars nerd!!
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / plain glass jars turned not-so-plain (lots of pics!) on: February 17, 2005 08:06:15 PM
so my apartment is decorated with bright colors (it's fun) and in the living room corner we have a small bookshelf that we (my roommates and i) don't really use for books, so i took some old glass jars and made them more interesting. i used sculpey and some beads, baked them in the oven and then glazed everything.....they have a very crayola-little-kiddish feeling that i really like.....

this is the first one i made (front view):

back view:

this is the second one i made:

close up of the side (i don't know if you can tell, but there are stars imprinted along the top):

back view:

this one is my favorite:

i hope you guys like them! comments are always appreciated!
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / green paisely book-bag-type-purse-thingy! (pic heavy) on: February 10, 2005 04:18:45 PM
I just made this green paisely bag. i'm really a backpack kind of girl, but i have been finding myself favoring taking this one to classes with me. it really holds a lot.....and i love paisely.

close up of grommets and straps

inside view (sorry it's not so good!) i chose a pocket with elastic around the top instead of some kind of closing so i could access my phone and keys easier.

my sister liked mine so i made her one too (she uses it for music) the inside is red, and the pocket is made with the patterned material.

and i couldn't help posting the matching zipper-purse-pocket i made to go with it!

hope you guys like it!
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / powerbook computer case on: February 07, 2005 06:15:57 PM
ok, i'm new at this, but i made a computer case and i'm really proud of it. i wasn't really that hard except that it took me for freakin ever case i didn't have a pattern or any idea of what to do! anyway, i'm pleased now. it's got a flannel linning to keep it shinny, and some heavy (almost felt-like) batting to protect it better.

i think the pictures are pretty fuzzy, but let me know what you think!
