1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / SINGER 6038 on: November 03, 2005 10:39:23 PM
I am preparing to purchase my very first sewing machine- and I am leaning strongly towards a Singer 6038, just based on the reviews I have read, and the awesome prices I have found for it on Ebay.

But I am wondering if any of you know anything about this particular machine and how well it works (Keeping in mind that it will be for a beginner) Or if you just have any tips about first time sewing machine buying in general.

Thank You!!!!

2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Lightbulbs on: September 03, 2005 03:38:20 PM
And more specifically, hollowed out light-bulbs.

I received inspiration from one of the featured projects- A little light-bulb flower vase contraption.

And now I am wondering what else I could possibly create with hollowed out light-bulbs.

Suggestions?

Just like a couple other people have already said, I instantly thought of "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen"  (I ADORE the necklace she wears in that movie and want one just like it. Desperately.)

Yours, of course, looks wonderful though.
Great job.

My boyfriend told me that the one time he tried to microwave a CD, his microwave ended up ruined. Do you think this  is just because he left it in too long? I am worried that I am going to ruin my microwave and end up having to buy a new one for my parents.
And also- Does putting the CD in the oven create awful fumes?

When I first saw this I thought it looked like the squares on the door were little windows into scenery behind it. Because the area around the door had the same kind of wallpaper.
I wonder if that made sense.
Oh well, nevertheless it looks wonderful!

Thats simply wonderful. I love it. Me and my friends have a band called "The Emo Extremos" .. we sing about tight pants and bleeding hearts and kids that hate their dads and hate their lives and hate their friends and hate their ex girlfriends for breaking their sad emo hearts...and such...
ANYWAYS.
I would buy one of those shirts. So let us know when the day comes where you want to sell them.  Wink
