jellybean89 - Thanks for that, too! Is it easy to remove the white space/add the writing? My brain is really not cooperating with me this week! Shocked I've got GIMP on my computer, so might wait for hubby to come home for that... Unless I manage to do it myself... Wink

Removing white space / adding text is pretty easy with Paint.NET. You open the chocolate frog card template & use the Magic Wand tool to select the white space & delete it (so that the space is transparent). Then you add a layer for the photo below the original chocolate frog card layer, paste in the photo & adjust where you want it. Then I add a layer for the text & move it above the chocolate frog layer (so that it's easier to edit my text without messing up the rest of the image) & add any text I want. Smiley

I haven't used GIMP much, but I think I figured out how to do it (but there might be a better way):
1. Open the chocolate frog template.
2. To allow parts of the chocolate frog image to be transparent, on the menu bar, select Layer -> Transparency -> Add Alpha Channel.
3. Use the Fuzzy Select Tool to select the white space (you may need to play with the Threshold setting in the tool options to select more or less of the white space).
4. Press Delete or select Edit -> Clear.
5. select Select -> None to deselect the blank space.
6. select File -> Open as Layers. Find and select your photo & click Open. It will be opened as a new layer.
7. Use the Move tool to place the photo in front of the blank space on the card.
8. In the list of layers, drag & drop the photo layer below the chocolate frog layer.
9. Use the Move & Scale tools to adjust the photo (make sure the photo layer is selected).
10. When done, select the chocolate frog card layer.
11. Use the Text tool to add text to the image. (It looks like each time you place text, it has it's own layer, so if you need to move it around, make sure the right layer is selected.)
12. Save your image. If you want a .png or .jpg image, you go to File -> Export As instead of just saving it.

Sorry if you already know how to do any of that! I don't use GIMP often, so I had to write it out to remember.  Tongue

Hello, fellow faculty members and students... Wink

I've been trying for the last couple of days to make my chocolate frog cards for the Ravenclaw Swap, but somehow my brain doesn't want to cooperate with me as to how to add the photo and info of me to the cards.

Does anyone have a tutorial how to do that pls?

I've only got access to a printer at home, so would have to do that or add my photo after?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I'd probably edit one of the chocolate frog templates in Paint.NET (free image editing software for Windows) to remove the white space where the photo goes & add layers for the text and photo, to get something like this:

and then print that out & cut out & glue to cardstock like Abbeeroad said. Smiley
