this is one of the most impressive projects that i have ever seen on craftster. i'm in awe. you are very talented. i'm hitting 'this rocks'!!!

Thank you so much. It was actually one of the very first projects I have ever tried like this and no one is more surprised than myself that it turned out as good as it did lol. Especially since I posted it, my very FIRST posting on craftster, it was one of the featured projects! holy cow!!!!!

Thanks everyone,
I really have to give mad props to olga for alot of the inspiration for this desk. Her work is amazing. I have been checking out her stuff for years (totally over my wife's shoulder without her knowledge!)

I think you did an excellent job on this headboard. I really am looking for an idea like this for my bedroom like this as well since I am mid-way through a renovation on mine, but had to stop due to my wife's knee surgery lol. I am really drawing alot of inspiration from you on this one and I think what you have done with your head board will definitely work very well with what I would like to see happen in my renovation. Thanks for the inspiration!  Wink

Shocked WOW!!!! I just woke up this morning to find my little recon microwave cart in what I am told is the exclusive "featured items" list.....I am kinda amazed here considering this is:

1. My 2nd recon EVER ( I my 1st was thishttp://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=326930.msg3774627#msg3774627, and I was ONLY the guy BOUGHT it, who swung the hammer and painted PART of the dang thing)

2. My very 1st stencil project I have ever tried

3. My 1st "crackle" paint project (OK well I practiced 1st on the candle holders in the pictures just to get the handle of it)

4. 2nd time building a desk

5. My very 1st post to Craftster

Thanks so much to my wife for shrieking like a little girl when she saw it, the Craftster community for being so supportive, and the classic rock station for keeping me sane with all those great tunes while i made this desk  Grin

I like the way it tuned out. Did you plan to salvage the top for something else? Maybe shelving elsewhere or a stool, or was it too flimsy?

Actually yes, my wife Crazypantsjones wants me to make her a plant stand out of it. It is still basically intact and all I would really have to do is reinforce the back with a piece of scrap wood or something. Maybe I will post pictures of that project at a later date.  Smiley

Shh! You ladies have NO idea how huge his (already very healthy) ego is getting with this thread!  He's becoming insufferable!

HAHAHAHA!!! I just get a kick out of all these ladies who swear they are going to threaten their significant other with bodily harm in order to get them to make THEM some thing super-cool Tongue
