1  Fairy Skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Dunedinite on: July 15, 2006 02:44:49 AM
I made a fairy skirt for a "f"-ing party.

10 layers of tulle. no real pattern, just worked. I only have the zigzag top layer because I got drunk (as I am about now) and ripped it. So I had to finish the ripping (nearly cried too)

Here is a picture, not at the "f"-ing party, but at a scrapbooking party we had at work where I dressed up. and ended up in the staff newsletter for the caption contest

I look like I've floating! Aye!!!!

I probably should have cropped the photo, but I'm on my 5th Tom Collins for the night... maybe I'll post the recipe... hhhmmmm

2  Big Shirt Dress to fitting shirt dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Dunedinite on: July 15, 2006 02:26:35 AM
I wanted a shirt dress, and the only pattern I could find was six months away from reaching the shops here in New Zealand (where it is winter. and cold. and everyone on craftster is showing their fantastic summer clothes).

Red Cross had a dollar bag sale, and I scooped this... (I'm not wearing the matching belt in this pic)

The shop assistant said "what on EARTH do you plan to do with this"

Heaps has been taken off the sides and it has been shorted at the sleeves and the bottom seams,

Wore it to work, got LOTS of compliments, and one rather nasty remark (not that I like THAT girl anyway!) and advice from a couple of style icons who suggested wearing the belt higher, so I did.

I am considering putting darts in the back to make it sit a bit nicer, but I will do that when I have finished all my projects (ie, never)

3  Deer Cushions in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Dunedinite on: October 27, 2005 01:11:15 AM
Cookie loves deer hunting, and so I created, with the help of a stencil from http://www.freewebs.com/stencilry/ some deer cushions.

Here they are:
couch shot

deer head (shiny fabric & camera flash causes the glowing apperance)

full body

I'm also planning on making some for christmas presents, especially my sister who is redecorating her room - the biggest wall (and it is BIG) hot pink and the other walls grey-blue. She'll be the proud recipient (hopefully) of Mary Kate & Ashley cushions, and a couple of floor cushions with flowers on them.

Also made the first image for a series of firearm/canon related ones

4  Pink Hoody in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Dunedinite on: August 27, 2005 04:02:09 PM
While those of you lucky enough to live in the Northern Hemisphere are running round in bikinis and enjoying the sun, we Southern Hemispherians are using any means possible to keep warm. It is 9oc here at the mo & that is not warm.

Anyway, I've made a hoody, and it is warm! I made the pattern all by myself, my first attempt at a pattern, and it went pretty well. I was able to give myself nice looong sleeves, which is a rare treat for someone with spaghetti arms like myself.

This is the second hoody I made off the pattern, the first isn't bad, but it stays in the cupboard for now.

Please remember 1. I don't host these pictures, they may disappear and for that I'm sorry Cry. and 2. more pictures can be seen at http://www.dunedinite.blogspot.com so those of you on dial-up (I'm a recent convert to faster methods) can actually see this page sometime today. Grin

The long awaited (and slightly scary) pcitures:

and for a bit of hoody action:
