2  Badger from Firefly/Serenity! (Poppet) (pic heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by WeepingAngel on: September 20, 2010 05:15:40 PM
I'm in a Firefly swap on another board, and my partner's favorite character is Badger!

So here he is!

One of my reference photos:

His hat has a papier-mach base. Everything else is hand-sewn. His jacket has a pocket for his handkerchief. I did actually fold back fabric for his lapels, but it doesn't show well in the photos above.

His hair is wool roving needle-felted into his scalp. It's better than a wig!

sans clothes...

Thank you rasita ^_^ Alas, I did not see your reply, and came up with a different way to do it! I'll have to make another poppet and do a picture tutorial, because I -really- like how it turned out. I needlefelted wool roving on his head. It became a combable mop, which I trimmed into just what I wanted. ETA: he's even got sideburns!

Still figuring out the bowler hat! The curved top is what is the challenge... and the rolled brim... okay, all of it... I've got some felt though, ready to play and figure something out.

ETA: Pics!

( I LOVE that he can stand on his own two feet. XD)
