31  A crochet Collie! (Pattern to come soon!) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: May 22, 2010 06:43:48 PM
Here is the crocheted collie dog I made for my Aunt. She told me that the ears were perfect collie ears  Grin (she breeds and shows them) so I think that is a good complement. My mom says that she put him on her dinning room table.  Smiley I wrote down the pattern as I was making him so once I clean it up I will post it here for everyone!

I'm not the biggest fan of how the tail turned out but I ran out of time to play with it (I gave it to my mom to give it to her when she flew out for a visit). The muzzle kinda looks funny from this angle. It looks fatter in real life, and perfect from a head on view.

32  A model of Helm's Deep from Lord of the Rings in Completed Projects by Spoopy on: May 03, 2010 05:28:50 AM
Here is my huge model of Helm's Deep that a made several years ago for the artistic part of my English class book reading assignment. I choose the Lord of the Rings novels and made this huge model.

The model is plaster that I painted overtop a foam insulation base. I have the tower (not right shape on top I realized later) and All the people are made of plasticine and have spears/bows/swords made from toothpicks. I have all the main characters on the inner circle stairs (legolas, aragorn, gimli, the king, it's hard to see from this photo. Each one is made from plasticine as are all the soldiers on the outer and inner wall and the side wall. Brown are people, green are elves and black are orks. The doors to the inner caves are also painted onto the backwall of the model (black). Made a few scaling ladders out of little wood pieces and I even have the turtle formation of orks heading towards the main doors. The runner with the burning torch heading for the sewage drain (which I also added) is also in the model but you can't see it from this picture. I think the second scaling ladder is in the way. He's made a plasticine too with a little wood torch painted orange on top to be like fire.  Smiley

This took me forever to make. I remember watching the battle part of the movie and freezing during good full frame shots to make sketches of the fortress. Just for your future reference cutting that stirofoam insulation (that people put in bewteen the walls of their house, usually blue or pink) with a bread knife really sucks and takes forever.  I would put more pictures up but it has long ago been disposed of because it's so huge and my family was moving. It takes two people to carry because it is so bulky. It is sitting on a baby grand piano if you want an estimate of scale  Tongue At the time I wasn't into crafting as much and only took one picture to remember it with. (I think there are a few non digital photos of it somewhere though..) But I thought it was cool enough to post on here despite me making this about 5 years ago. Lemme know what you all think! Grin

33  Kirby! Right back at ya!? in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: April 29, 2010 08:07:16 AM
HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIII! *waves arms*

Here is my Kirby that I decided to make on my own one day. His eyes/cheeks/mouth are made of felt. I could probably tell you how I made him if anyone is interested. I'm noticing alot of my projects have a video game theme...

He's clearly so happy in this picture because today is grocery day.

34  My Kero! and his epic fight with a dangerous foe! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: April 26, 2010 11:20:43 AM
And here is my first completed pattern post! Presenting Kero from the Cardcaptor Sakura anime! I made him using a pattern from another poster http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=169562 for the head, ears and wings and modified the body and arms/legs to make him bigger. He even sits up on his own!  Smiley

Kero seemed to want to pick a fight or something cause a huge stare down insued between him and my cat Lyra  Roll Eyes

After some witty banter between the two Lyra went on the attack, going for the tail!  Shocked

Kero seemed to be no match for the might of Lyra and was easily defeated. He bowed before her greatness.

Poor Kero better luck next time!  Cheesy
