21  Re: Yarnies Vs Sewists Holiday Wishlist Swap Discussion and Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Spoopy on: December 06, 2010 01:00:35 PM
Today has been an awesome day! I got three swap packages! (The postperson must hate me..) For this swap I recieved from both icebyrd67 and FinRaziel.

First up is icebyrd67's awesome snack bags! There are two baggies (left) and one sandwhich sized fold up wrap bag (right). Thanks so much I can't wait to try them out!

And here is what FinRaziel made for me.... what is that peeking out of the box?

Why a super cute dragon ami! He is so cute and little. I love the color and his blue eyes (what kind of yarn is this?). Thank you so much!

mxer145 recieved her package from me the other day and can't find her camera cord so I will post a picture for her. I sent her a painted door sign. It was my first time painting something like this, I think it turned out well. I got to use some of the thick brown wire I have had kicking around for forever too, made an awesome handle for the sign to hang off door knobs with.  Smiley It is covered in a glittery varnish but that didn't really show up with my camera flash, but it is glittery!  Grin

I also sent some bright blue shoe laces but I don't have a picture of that. Hope you like it mxer145!  Cheesy

23  Re: Givers and Needers Round 8 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Spoopy on: November 23, 2010 04:22:56 PM
Here is my awesome needer package from 1boy1girl1kitty2. This package made my day!  Grin

First up is tons of super soft bamboo yarn and an alpaca yarn (in a color I have never seen around here!)

Next is some 100% wool (I love the green and blue multicolored hank) and 100% cotton (in a nice light grey!) Please ignore the random things under my glass coffee table Tongue

and last but not least some 100% merino wool yarn (love the purple!) and some yarn I'm not sure about on the right side what is it 1boy1girl1kitty2? Whatever it is the colors in them are amazing!

Not pictured are some cute leaf stitch markers (one broke, but the others are fine) that I'm using on a project right now. Thanks so much! Anyone have any ideas what to make with the merino or wool? it's much thinner then worsted weight probably sport weight, (which is great since I've never had anything like that) but now I'm not sure what to make with it Tongue Any thoughts everyone?

24  Re: Yarnies Vs Sewists R2 Gallery Sendouts Changed to September 3 in The Swap Gallery by Spoopy on: September 20, 2010 10:46:40 AM
Here is what I recieved from Gavagai.

This lovely messenger style bag with birds and trees for the fabric. Thanks!

unfortunently this bag is too huge for me to carry around. it's like 19 inches deep and I'm only a little over 5 feet tall so it's as large as my entire torso, and when set on the ground is higher then my knee. I'm going to see if I can maybe make it shorter somehow but I don't know much about sewing. If that doesn't work it will probably turn into some sort of storage bag. It's such a nice bag, I feel bad that I can't use it in public Sad If only I was a taller person without a petite frame!!  Cry

Here are some pics!

and the inside

I know you posted forever ago Gavagai but I'm so glad you liked everything. I have pictures of the other stuff I sent so I'll post them now. Here is what Gavagai recieved awhile ago.

Another picture of the teletubby hat. I'm so glad it fits, I was scared since I had never made a hat that wasn't for my own head so I had nothing to test the size with. Especially since the pattern was for knitting so I had to make up my own since I crochet.

Here is a little friend I made so that when Mika wears the hat they can be twins! Tongue

And here is a pacman ghost. I noticed she had a pacman set on her wists so I had the perfect blue to make a scared pacman ghost and so I did.

This was a great swap, and a new experience making a hat from scratch. I can't wait for your package to reach me!

26  first polymer clay things in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: August 17, 2010 02:45:29 PM
These are the first things I have made with clay. I'm not very good, I can't draw at all and I think that is sorta related to clay skills  Tongue

first up is a siamese cat I made. I modeled it after my own siamese cat.

Here is a lemon that will at some point probably be made into a keychain. He obviously tasted himself because he has a sour face  Grin

Both are covered with an old water based varnish that my dad had kicking around. I like the shininess  Cheesy

Let me know what you think, go easy on me I'm not very good at polymer clay... I can't make canes at all!

27  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2010 in The Swap Gallery by Spoopy on: August 17, 2010 12:51:19 PM
Taraston and myself did a OT polymer clay swap together because I was from Canada and was unable to join the actual swap. Boy did she spoil me, we agreed to send some candy to each other and she sent alot along with a few cute extras.

I'm gonna be so sugar high!!  Grin I love the big note on the wax bottle drink things too

How did she know I needed some blank cards? and I love the tiny clipboard.

Now on to the clay! THIS IS SO COOL! I Love the seasons and she knew I loved trees so she made the tree the main part of each little hanging clay tile. They are so cute, I'm going to search for somewhere to put them.

I love the drawings on the back of them especially the brown and light blue ones with the faces.

Thank you so much Taraston! I hope you like what I made you as much as I love my stuff!

28  Snake? Snake!? Snaaaaaaaaaaaake!! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: July 06, 2010 05:54:27 PM
!

Here is snake, from the metal gear series. I made him for my brother this past christmas. I made him up completely on my own, he was my first major original creation. I googled a nice big picture of snake and then went to work. His hair is fun fur, that went through a haircut and I even added a few pouch like places for him to keep those rocket launchers and huge machine guns in  Wink I should have taken a picture of the back of his head cause I made sure he had his mullet which of course made my brother laugh  Grin Decided to add the stubble beard too which I think makes him look tougher  Tongue

and of course Snake wouldn't be Snake if he didn't so some sneakin'!!

Here he is going through the "jungle" ala metal gear 3 Watch out for crocodiles! (I didn't have the heart to tell him that he wasn't in the jungle but in fact crawling in my mom's ugly house plant vine thing  Cheesy )

and here he is peeking around a corner in some base.

and here he is hiding under something probably because some guards are looking for him after he got !'d  Grin (and yes !'d is totally a word now) He's probably wishing he had a box to hide in instead since it's pretty dusty under there.

Let me know what you think!  Smiley

I also recieved a TON of handcarved stamps! There are trees, flowers and leaves!

Thanks so much! Now I need to find some crafty ways to use those awesome stamps!

30  Cardinals around here? Only crocheted ones! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: June 04, 2010 11:33:33 AM
This is a little cardinal that I made using a basic pattern online and then adding the crest and black face. The face is made of felt. I made him for my grandmother. She really likes cardinals. So he now sits on her walker and travels everywhere with her  Smiley

he likes pretending he is in the tropics  Grin

A side view so you can see the crest better. He has a tail too but you can't see it in this shot. Please ignore the dirty plate in the background  Tongue
