11  My first hats! (several pictures) in Crochet: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: September 27, 2011 01:39:54 PM
Here are a bunch of my first hats, Two are for me and two went to my brother and his girlfriend as gifts. The fifth one went to my partner in a swap.  Smiley

My favorite of the bunch. I just love the pattern, the colors of the yarn and the way the colors changed.  Made with bernat mosiac yarn and the divine hat pattern found here http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns&id=10

This is a 50/50 cotton/linen light grey yarn that I used to make a summer bucket style hat. I added cream ribbon and tied it in a bow and scalloped the brim. I used several patterns to put together this hat.

This is the hat I made for my brother. He wanted a "guy" hat  Cool so I thought black beanie with a few white stripes.

Here is the hat I made for my brothers girlfriend. She likes girly things so I thought a pink, purple and light blue striped hat would be perfect.  Wink I had less blue then the other colors so I made those stripes thinner which I think worked out well. I added a pink and blue double strand edging to the bottom to finish it off.

The hat I made for my partner in the dresden files swap. A dark grey with light grey flecks using a pattern found in a book that I can't remember the name of.  Tongue  Huh I added the red and grey circle applique to the one side to add some color. It's a nice fall/spring hat since it is a more open pattern with a sort of scalloped design which left spaces between the clusters.

What do you think?

12  Re: One Tiny Stuffie Round 7 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Spoopy on: September 20, 2011 06:31:11 PM
Ok I have some pictures of my amazing tiny stuffie from Spookypooky I love him so much! I don't have any pictures of the actual package because I was so excited when I got the package and happened to read the customs sticker which said the contents contained "an angel toy". The world stop moving for a second as the words sunk in... "OH MY GOD GOSH (can't swear to an angel  Roll Eyes ) SHE MADE ME A CASTIEL!!" (from the show supernatural). I then proceeded to deafen everthing within a 100 mile radius as I screamed and ripped into the package like a posessed person.  Grin

Here is Cas in all his angelic might and cuteness

His wings are attached with velcro so they can come off!

She said that she never watched the show yet he is so perfect, even his tie is loose and messy like it's supposed to be. That was the first thing my mom said about him when I showed him to her (after saying he was cute of course  Tongue ). Amazing job I've been staring at him all day. I finally have stuffie cuteness from Spookypooky she makes amazing stuffies!  Smiley

Here is a picture of him with his new big brother crochet Cas. Man my crochet version looks so bad compared to him Grin

Ok enough insane rambling. Thank you so much Spooky! I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

13  Sakura tree stuffie! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: September 20, 2011 11:39:41 AM
I made this tree from Ana Paula Rimoli's pattern in Amigurumi Toy Box. After I made it I decided it needed something different and I decided to make it a flowering tree. I had some thin light pink yarn and so the cherry blossoms were created and added to the tree. I think she turned out really cute.  Smiley

14  Re: One Tiny Stuffie Round 6 Gallery O' Goodness in The Swap Gallery by Spoopy on: July 28, 2011 06:04:07 PM
I checked my mail today and got my amazing package from Suereal!! She sent a ton of extras and the most adorable peacock!

It's so tiny!! I don't know how you could make it so tiny! It was actually super funny because this little guy was hidding in the tea tin and at first when I took everything out I was like "ooo tea now where is the stuffie?" Grin You would think after having a father that wrapped presents in old cookie/fruit snack boxes that I would know that it's something else besides what the box says is in there.... alas I fall for it every time he does it and fell for it here too..... I'm blonde leave me alone! Tongue

Everything else! A bracelet, pretzel M&M's, some beads, an awesome peacock pendant, paper clips and more.

Thanks so much Suereal! I love everything. I'm sorry I didn't really send any extras for you, I just couldn't seem to find anything in this tiny conservative town that I thought would match your tastes. We are rather plain around here. Sad

15  felted purse - my first attempt at felting! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: July 27, 2011 01:13:22 PM
I bought some wool yarn for really cheap and decided to try felting. I made this purse up myself and then used a pattern to crochet the flower on the side. I think the flower provides a neat contrast between felted and regular crochet. I felted this the old fashioned way with a bucket of warm water and my hands (since the washing machine is old and does its own thing). It didn't get quite as roughed up as I was hoping but for my first try I am proud of it. What do you think?

The purple stripes in the middle is a little hard to see but they look brighter in better lighting.

A close up of the flower, I really like how the flower turned out. The purple goes nice with the grey and the green at the top is sort of supposed to be like the leaves or stem of the flower. The purse closure is just a loop and a crocheted button.

16  Ivan the Giant Isopod!! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: July 27, 2011 12:58:53 PM
I made him for Suereal in the OT stuffie swap round 6. I used felt for his shell and claws. He has 12 legs in all and 3 parts to his tail like lobsters do. Giant Isopods are these creepy alien cockroach/lobster creatures that live in the deep ocean. I saw a video a few years back on youtube of them and when Suereal said she liked rare creatures and also liked squids and cryptozoology so this is what I came up with. I decided to name him Ivan Grin

I think he looks like an isopod, just google them if your haven't heard of them before, they really are a strange creature.

17  The hero of time in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: June 24, 2011 05:23:17 PM
I know there are so many people that have made Link but I just had to share mine! I made him up myself without any patterns. I think I must have made his hat at least 3 times trying to make it look cool. He's about 30cm high when sitting. The master sword and hylian shield I made out of felt. He's also got a little gauntlet to protect his sword arm. I'm so proud of him!  Smiley

I remembered to keep him left handed too! I'm such a zelda nerd  Roll Eyes

I just have to say that the felt shield took forever! All these small little odd shaped pieces that I had to try and cut out and I suck at drawing so the shapes are not straight or sized properly at all...

What do you think? Is he good enough to save the princess and the land of hyrule from ganonforf's evil?

18  Christmas Reindeer in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Spoopy on: December 14, 2010 05:37:24 PM
Look who stopped by a little early this year. A reindeer! He's made from a pattern kit that my mom bought when she went to a Mary Maxims in Ontario. When she got back home she chucked it at me told me to make it for her  Roll Eyes

He took me a long time, and he's probably the biggest amigurumi that I've ever made. He sits at about 12 inches (from top of head, not the antlers). I think he turned out really cute even with me getting lazy and only making 6 lights instead of twelve for the lights wrapped around him. Let me know what you think  Smiley
