1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bakerboy Hat on: May 07, 2011 12:28:44 PM
So I had a lovely brown checked bakerboy hat that wore a hole in the edge of the brim Sad

So I got out my protracter and measuring tape and made a pattern for a new hat :3

Had a quilt/sheet set I'd got half-price at the Salvos and an old, old, OLD shirt I had to work in for about a week then never again, and what I think must be some sort of baby blanket. Combine that with some interfacing and a self-cover button from Spotlight and I have a new hat Cheesy There is also elastic inserted at the back to keep it tighter but I forgot to take a picture and I'll be darned if I'm doing it at bloody 3:30am.

Pictures!

It isn't crooked in real life, I swear! D:

What it looks like almost front-on.

Spiffy lining! *Oooooh*

Button on the top Smiley

Was fun and turned out great, so I'll probably make a lot more. I have a bunch of fabric in my stash that doesn't seem right for other stuff but would look great on a hat ^_^
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: PBW Featured Projects 2010 on: December 02, 2010 09:51:30 PM
Woohoo! Thanks for featuring my baggie! It feels pretty good to have my stuff put up there along with all the other amazing works Smiley
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Green and White Lace Short Overalls! on: November 13, 2010 11:49:54 PM
Cheesy Thanks, guys!

I'm still a little wary about wearing it out, I've worn it around the house, mostly, but since it's Summer here in Aus I'll probably wear it to the beach a bunch!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Green and White Lace Short Overalls! on: November 11, 2010 12:09:29 AM
I made some overalls out of an old green bedsheet and this long lace thing that was made to go round the boxes at the top of curtains... I don't know what they're called.

Front. It's really not crooked, like it looks in the photo. I was just pulling on one side  Roll Eyes

This is the back. Excuse the burnt legs.  Embarrassed

This is the front detail. Used two different coloured buttons XD And this was my first time doing buttonholes D: They suck. That lace stuff is on the insides of the top half as well, so I can have it hanging down if I like Cheesy

Any feedback?
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pacman Bag! on: September 17, 2010 06:55:53 AM
It's geeky *and* feminine. Made this from a $5 Pacman shirt from JayJays and an old curtain from the charity shop. Smiley

Front of the bag:

Shot of the lining:

Aaand all packed up:

It's pretty sexy, though it could use a bit of twiddling, like making the straps a little shorter/deeper into the lining, and there's a chunky hole at the bottom that could use sewing up once I've finished my alterations Smiley

I'm gonna have to make these Smiley They're so retro! Are they easy? Do they fall off?

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: 70's inspired romper jumper thing on: April 21, 2010 11:36:55 PM
I'd like to make one of these, they're so funky! I just get worried about whether I'd wear it, y'know? How things look really good on other people but when I try it it looks silly.
