441  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Twisted Fairytale swap? on: January 20, 2011 04:00:26 PM
I haven't seen the 10th Kingdom, but it sounds interesting, in that same vein though, the comic book Fables is an amazing example of altered fairy tales, it's amazing and well worth the read.

I actually looked up Dr. Seuss Swap to make sure I wasn't treading on someone else's domain, and I somehow missed that, I hope it's still okay for me to organize.

After seeing the amazing embroidery by Muddlepud (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=370309.0) I thought that a Dr. Seuss Swap would be a great idea. I was thinking sign-ups Mid-February and crafting throughout the entire month of March. If there's enough interest I'll organize this. I've never organized before, but I think I'm eligible, and I would love to do a Seuss swap!

I sent a note from Dean because in my eyes it's not Dean's style to send a fancy Valentine's Day Card, and I left plenty of pages blank so that she can right any new details that arise in the area of the Supernatural!

I can indeed post pictures.

Dean sent Pioneer9 a Guide to the Supernatural, I'll post pictures below.

The front has Sam & Dean's tattoo carved into it.

As I mentioned, it's a Guide to the Supernatural

Here's a sample of one of the pages.

I hope you liked it!

For some reason I can't see any of the images that AshleyCatherine posted, is anyone else having trouble viewing them?

oh noes!!!  Cry

I'm sorry this is happening ladies.  maybe they'll turn up eventually.  I especially want to see that corset.

My package arrived at it's destination, it's my partner who's gone AWOL. I would like to see that corset too! I don't wear corsets, but they look super cool, and a KH one would be amazing.

Sorry guys, I didn't take pictures of my package before I sent it and it looks like we aren't getting pictures of it at all.  Cry I made a black corduroy corset with a red heartless symbol beautifully appliqued on it. And I made two necklaces and bracelet out of polymer clay and a little Sora doll out of felt.

I'm in the same boat actually; I sent a Papayou fruit plushie, a flashlight based off of the fan vid posted, and honestly, it was so long ago that I can't remember the rest.
449  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Aaahh! Real Monsters Swap (SIGNUP 12/5/10-12/27/10 ; MAIL BY 2/1/11) on: January 16, 2011 12:23:04 PM
I'm going to try and get everything finished this week, I've started everything, but nothing is close to completion yet.

I'm glad everyone likes what I made! Using my Dremel for the first time was so much fun! Below I'll post photos of better quality, and then even farther below is awesome-ness!

Here's the necklace I made:

I'm really quite proud of it, and I'm glad everyone likes it!

The other pictures are quite sufficient, so instead I'll move on to something MORE awesome!

I also received today, from IsikkahJai, it's an amazing package of which you will all be jealous! My three movies were Girl, Interrupted; Princess Mononoke; and The Princess Bride. Look at the goodies below!

The first thing I saw were these adorable little doodads. They're Kodama from Princess Mononoke, and ice cream (from Girl, Interrupted?)

Next I opened up this awesome mini journal inspired by Girl, Interrupted

Then I saw the most amazing little pen cap heads of the Dread Pirate Roberts and Buttercup from The Princess Bride, they are actually sooooooooooo amazing. IsikkahJai made up an alternate story for The Princess Bride that ended up with these two with their heads on spikes, so it made it even better!

IsikkahJai took a risk and made me a jewellery-esque item, and at first I was tentative, but it's so cool. It's an arm band similar to one that a character from Girl, Interrupted wore, and then when you reverse it (yes, it's reversible!!!), it has a cross stitch that looks like your basic Jolly Roger, but upon closer inspection you see that it's the Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride!

Last, but most certainly not least is the most amazing cross stitch of all time, it's a combination of two from my wists, and it's better than I can even imagine. It's a Kodama from Princess Mononoke again, but this time he's surrounded by sakura flowers, and it's adorable.

Thank you so much IsikkahJai, you were an awesome swap partner!!
