Zoma~ I sure didnt, but I will remember to next time! My guy friend is currently dreaming up his own image, he helped me with this one! BeckyHearts~ While I've heard of Yudu, I confess I dont really know what it is! I got the itch to try screenprinting, and hit up my (awesome) local art store, bought a screen (and emulsion, and ink, and a squegee) and went to town! This was such great fun. I'm so glad it wasnt a bust! This was my first real craft post on craftster, and with you affirmation ringing in my ears, I'm wearing this handsome devil out to the arts district tonight!

I figured an expletive was cause for nsfw, but that aside, I'm super proud of this little guy! He's my own design, and when I decided to print him, I knew that this text was the only option! I know I can't take him everywhere with me, as he's mildly offensive, but I hope you love him as much as I do! I flooded the screen, and ran the ink twice, but he's still a bit spotty. I figure three of four next time. This was my first attempt, and the ink was much thicker than I anticipated!

So, the thought of my gift got me through my ten hour shift at the restaurant today. And I just opened it and it's lovely! As a server, I wear a uniform apron. Pic included. However, when I opened my gift, I knew that if I could wear it I'd be the blingingest server EVER!! Thank you do much, it's so lovely! the main fabric is a lovely mottled purple and blue batik, and the accent is a pure and clean light blue. Not to forget the bow of course! Simple with z light feminie touch, it's do lovely!

IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / yikes! Emulsion disaster!
|

So, I bought myself a nifty little speedball 3 set, emulsion, sensitizer, and cleaner. WELL. I added water to the senstizer and shook with all my might, stirred repeatedly with a rod, and added it to my emulsion. However. When I looked in the bottle, so make sure all was well. . . all was not. I cut up the bottle to check, and sure enough, there is still a layer of black along a large portion of the bottle still. I have no idea what to do. The screen is already coated, do I let it dry and then hope for the best? or is this going to end in a non-light-sensitive disaster?

I received notice from my post office that I have recieved my package, and I am mailing mine out today. We did a personal swap, but are allowed to post pics here! Had a lot of fun crafting for VampedAngel, I hope everything is to your satisfaction! =D Dealing with a swap-tragedy in another swap though, my piece (A small soap-stone figurine/sculpture) fell and broke at the post office. . . it was awful. =(
