1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Baby Groot on: September 05, 2014 02:22:30 PM
We loved the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Groot was our favorite! I just had to make him when I found Twinkie Chan's free pattern. My son loves him. That makes me a happy mommy.

(Hubby sent me roses for our anniversary. Groot loves 'em.  Wink)

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Casserole Carrier on: September 04, 2014 02:15:08 PM
A friend saw a pic of a casserole carrier and told me she thought I could make make one. So I found a video tutorial for one similar to what she had shown me and surprised her with one. The video was by The Crafty Gemini on YouTube, but there are lots of tutes out there, if you are interested in making one.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Obi Rice Pack on: May 17, 2014 01:16:20 PM
Project from the first One Yard Wonders book. It's the Obi Inspired Hot/Cold Pack. Love the way it turned out. Super easy to make. The most difficult part was filling the channels w/rice! Made it for a friend having back problems, but like it so much I think I'll make one for me too.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Beach Towel Roll on: May 17, 2014 07:19:26 AM
Wasn't really sure which category to post this in, but this makes the most sense to me. I wanted to make beach towels for the kiddos (and me too) for the summer.  Here's my first attempt. Just sewed a simple flap on the short end of towel and used velcro as closure device.  Just fold towel in half length-wise and roll up from bottom towards flap. You can roll up magazine, sunscreen, goggles, etc inside towel and they won't fall out. I thought on the next one I might add a small zippered pocket to store a little cash in.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Patch for preschooler with "Lazy Eye" on: April 30, 2014 02:38:23 PM
Wasn't sure where exactly to post this, but this forum made the most sense. I made a couple of patches for a friend who's daughter just got the news she needs to patch one eye. Needless to say the child was NOT happy! So I made her a couple of special patches with her favorite characters on them.

Just in case anyone is interested in making one for a child they know, I included a picture of the lining.

Wanted to add a couple boy patches I made for another friend:

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Flowers on: January 02, 2014 11:39:04 AM
I am becoming reacquainted with crocheting. I crocheted a little in high school, many years ago... I made a few scarfs and wanted to learn to make some pretty flowers to accent them.  I was having trouble with the written tutorial I was finding. I found a couple videos on youtube that were exteremly helpful by Sheruknitting. So pleased with how they turned out!
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Blessings Jar on: January 07, 2013 07:24:18 AM
This is a "Blessings Jar" that I made for my secret sister at church. The idea is to jot down your blessings and then fold 'em up and place them inside the jar. Then on New Years Day next year, open your jar and read all your blessings. I plan to include a pretty pen and note pad. The jar is just an old spaghetti sauce jar. I covered the lid with fabric using mod podge and then made the cozy using the same fabric. The lettering is done using a fabric transfer that I printed. I was going to stitch it by hand, but the family has been sick with the flu and I was short on time.  Grin

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Jake (from Adventure Time) Pillow on: December 17, 2012 08:38:33 AM
My son saw a Jake pillow at the game store for $19.99!  Shocked I thought, "I can make a bigger one for a whole lot less." So here's what I came up with. It's a 20x20 pillow. I only spent $12.50 on supplies and have enough fleece left to make a Jake hat and pocket warmers.  Grin
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Simple Bag on: January 05, 2012 11:05:46 AM
Whipped up this cute little bag using a tute I'd added to my faves a long time ago. Glad I got around to making it. It's a little gift for my SIL. Found the tute on vintagericrac.blogspot.com, in case anyone is interested.

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Made a couple skirts! on: January 02, 2012 08:15:45 AM
I bought myself a Skirt Purse from a friend at work who was taking up a Thirty One order with the hopes that I would be able to sew my own skirts. And I did!  Cheesy I love how they turned out. I made the floral one first with fabric I had on hand. And bought the oriental print yesterday at Joann's. I just love it.
