11  Blessings Jar in Completed Projects by sally1019 on: January 07, 2013 07:24:18 AM
This is a "Blessings Jar" that I made for my secret sister at church. The idea is to jot down your blessings and then fold 'em up and place them inside the jar. Then on New Years Day next year, open your jar and read all your blessings. I plan to include a pretty pen and note pad. The jar is just an old spaghetti sauce jar. I covered the lid with fabric using mod podge and then made the cozy using the same fabric. The lettering is done using a fabric transfer that I printed. I was going to stitch it by hand, but the family has been sick with the flu and I was short on time.  Grin

12  Jake (from Adventure Time) Pillow in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by sally1019 on: December 17, 2012 08:38:33 AM
My son saw a Jake pillow at the game store for $19.99!  Shocked I thought, "I can make a bigger one for a whole lot less." So here's what I came up with. It's a 20x20 pillow. I only spent $12.50 on supplies and have enough fleece left to make a Jake hat and pocket warmers.  Grin

13  Simple Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sally1019 on: January 05, 2012 11:05:46 AM
Whipped up this cute little bag using a tute I'd added to my faves a long time ago. Glad I got around to making it. It's a little gift for my SIL. Found the tute on vintagericrac.blogspot.com, in case anyone is interested.

14  Made a couple skirts! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sally1019 on: January 02, 2012 08:15:45 AM
I bought myself a Skirt Purse from a friend at work who was taking up a Thirty One order with the hopes that I would be able to sew my own skirts. And I did!  Cheesy I love how they turned out. I made the floral one first with fabric I had on hand. And bought the oriental print yesterday at Joann's. I just love it.

15  Springerle Cookies in Dessert by sally1019 on: December 23, 2011 07:19:19 AM
These are Springerle cookies I made last weekend. The stomach flu has ravaged our house, so this is the only baking I've done. But they turned out so pretty!

17  Goomba Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sally1019 on: July 31, 2011 06:04:54 AM
I made this for a swap and was really pleased with how it turned out. I haven't done in kind of needlework in many, many years. And I did the bag without a pattern (which is a big deal for me because I'm a new sewer).

My 7 and 9 year old helped me sew these cute little totes for their teachers. And I had some extra fabric, so I made them fabric journal covers.

Thanks for the tutorial!  Cheesy I was able to make one yesterday afternoon following your easy instructions. Here's a pic of my bag holding a couple of 2 liters of Pepsi and a box of Capri Sun. I love it.
