Hey. I have attempted to make several shirred or smocked sundresses. They come out nicely except that the elastic thread shows through a little bit on the right side. I can only find white or black elastic thread so I can't even choose a color that will blend in. Is there something I can do to prevent this? Thanks for the advice.

I am in love with the dress and I want to make one like it but I really have no idea where to start. I already bought similar fabric but if someone could please give me some advice on how to get started I would really appreciate it.
