Wow love that needlepunched butterfly! And I'm not quite sure what needlepunching is... hmmm... another craft to investigate!

YES IN-DEEDY:

I received, from whenindoubtsew- a box full of awesome!!!!!

Somehow I didn't manage to get a group shot, but I will kick things off with the extra bits I received: First up- a pair of lovely green mugs with teeny little ants drawn all around them! Love these, and am using one right now! Also in there is some pretty butterfly cookie cutters, buggy stickers and lady bug post-it notes, some pretty bug themed cotton fabric- which I can't wait to play with; and Australian themed chocolate bars... and I swear I had some caramel filled Koala chocolates around here somewhere....  Wink mmmm...

An awesome 3d beetle hoop- which will be the beginnings of a hoopwall I think! It is immaculately stitched, and the colours are soo good- he is all puffy and squishy, the stitching is all metallic and the spots and eyes are beaded! I love this so much.

(I'd like to take the opportunity here to apologize for my terrible photos...
it seems to be perpetually night time at my place!
Can't seem to get good light anywhere...)

Up next I would like to show you a very pretty reclaimed sweater hat- it is so soft and fits great! And pinned on it was this gorgeous moth brooch- whenindoubtsew needlefelted the texture on the wings and it is so detailed and dimensional. It's lovely and has the cutest little antenna!

There was a stunning Luna moth felt badge. I had noticed whenindoubtsew in the felt badge swap and was delighted to find a badge with the most perfect, tiny little stitches on it and cant wait to pop a brooch back on the ..ugh... back and rock it!

There was a couple of screenprinted items, one of which was this pair of amazing bee leggings (the bees sit just below my knees, which is so cute!) The bees are adorable and whenindoubtsew screenprinted them in a pretty copper paint- I told whenindoubtsew that I like to receive wearable items and that I practically live in leggings so I think these will be getting a lot of wear! OK- it is super hard to take photos of your own legs...

So good right?! I am amazed by her talent, so what I pulled out next just blew me away. It was another screenprinted item. A incredibly rad apron with so many sweet details; I just love the fold down top and button, the cute thrifty fabric, the handy pockets. Awesome! I had pinned (from craftster!) this awesome Tracy Turnblad dress (John Waters' Hairspray is my favourite film) which features a cockroach motif printed on it- and whenindoubtsew put her own spin on it and this is the result!

AMAZING! (sorry the picture is pretty crappy, I'll try to get another- or, whenindoubtsew, please feel free to post any pics you might have!) I am in awe, there is such skill in this and - as if it couldn't get any better - it is REVERSIBLE! The other side featuring turquoise ants!! She combined so many things I love on this and it just makes it so perfect and special- Thank you whenindoubtsew!!

The awesome did not stop there! I am an avid jewellery wearer, too much is never enough! And I got a motherload!
Three gorgeous necklaces:

This great polymer clay and beaded one:

This amazing stumpwork butterfly pendant, made from a mans tie- so wonderful and dimensional and intricate but incredibly hard to do justice to in photographs!

(again whenindoubtsew, please post any picture you might have to show these gorgeous items better!)

AND a long necklace with locust transfers on these cool metallic beads, also hard to get a nice photo when on ones self!

These next two pendants are amazing any may just be my favourites- which is a big call!! But they are stunning, I have something similar to each of these pinned- but the ones I received are so much better!

The bee is embroidered onto felt and makes me smile- so much (come back summer!!)

And these ants.. these ants are so gorgeous, they are a combination of cross stitch and beading- I adore this pendant- both of them actually, and can't wait to get some chain to wear them on.

Nope, I'm not quite done! I also got an amazing, stuffed cicada brooch; with beautiful tulle wings and gorgeous little beaded eyes!

AND some hair clips and pins! An "ant in the apples" rosette:

And a set of pretty, Poly clay ones: butterflies, moth, bee and beetle pins (some of which glow in the dark!) The poor wee bee suffered a small misshap, but I have his other wing and will do some reconstructive surgery!

Whew! OK, I think that's my loot! Amazing huh?! Along with it all came the sweetest card with explanations of all the items, which I loved reading through. THANK YOU so very much whenindoubtsew!!! You have been such an amazing partner and really have gone above and beyond! I had a blast crafting for you, I hope you receive tomorrow- we can't have you busting, it would ruin a perfect swap  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I can see why people send candy- you need something to keep your strength up when posting hoards of amazing items and gushing with lines and lines of text!!!
I would give you all some chocolate if I could
 Cheesy
Thanks crazyda79 too for organizing such a rad swap, with so many awesome and inspiring goodies!

Wow there are some amazing swappers here, loving all the embroidery and all the gorgeous sewn goodies!  Cheesy

I received from the fantastic, talented and super generous petskin- and am just over the moon with it all
 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Here is the package in all of its glory:
It is dark and rainy here (summer soiree... not quite  Wink ) sorry about my dark photos!

Those of you with keen eyes may spy in the centre of that image- a stripey 8-legged dude who I just adore: BORIS!!!   Cheesy

When petskin and I were chatting about any particular requested items, I made a not so subtle comment about my love for Boris  Cheesy And he made the long journey across the world to come and live with me! He is phenomenal! Petskins talent for felt is so inspiring.
Also, Petskin and I were both in the felt badge swap and decided to swap a couple of badges:

A gorgeous peacock- with sparkly eyes and feathery tail! And a pretty blue diamond- with shiny thread and beaded top  Cheesy I knew these three items would be in the package, but the others were such an amazing surprise! There was this gorgeous, woodland theme, furry bag!  Cheesy With a pretty crocheted top and strap:

AWESOMELY adorable fox applique on furry backround and foxy tail strap adornment:
 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

AND there was a beautiful crocheted scarf, in pretty ice-creamy colours- which is so soft and a great length, nice and long  Smiley

Petskin also created this awesome painting of a dapper gentlecat with a monocle!  Wink Its has such great colours and texture. I love animals in clothes, especially such smartly dressed ones:

Everything was beautifully wrapped in fabric pieces, which I love  Cheesy And petskin sent me candy and a tea towel from California- which is the beginning of my international tea towel collection! Along with the sweetest card  Kiss

Thank you so very much petskin- I adore it all and feel so grateful that you asked me to swap  Cheesy
Boris asked me to tell you he is very happy here!  Wink

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

4  Re: Felt Badge Round 2 Gallery!! (Send Out July 9) in The Swap Gallery by kathrynsss on: July 13, 2012 11:17:10 PM
I received my badge from the ever awesome and talented HowdySailor! And I love it so much  Cheesy
=I was literally about to pin something just like this! HowdySailor, you mindreader!  Wink =

Along with the super lovely note, and sneaky extra  Wink

Sorry the photos are so dark, it's overcast and rainy here- which is pretty appropriate, I think!   Wink
It is so soft and lovely; and makes me think of ice cream, and pompom's, and Bjork, and snowballs, and cloudy days  Cheesy LOVE
HowdySailor said she was excited to try something new- and I am so glad she did!! I think it is needlefelted or perhaps wet felted- awesome!!

Here is the back, because not only did it come ready to wear with a brooch back affixed- but she had felted it in which is so clever!

And I immediately pinned it in my hair  Cheesy

THANK YOU SO MUCH HowdySailor! I love it  Kiss
{I really, really hope you get yours soon  Cry - and that you like it as much as I love mine  Cheesy }

oops! massive post, sorry everyone just wanted to share the joy  Cheesy

5  Slender Loris Cushion Cover in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by kathrynsss on: June 11, 2012 02:59:34 AM
I made this cushion cover for the lovely Petskin in my first swap.

Petskin's love of unusual and creepy animals was very inspiring, so I embroidered an adorable slender loris onto a piece of calico  Cheesy At this point I felt the balance was a bit off, so I added in the beautiful Estonian word nn with the double meaning of luck/happiness. Although my embroidered text needs a little work  Undecided

Then finished it off by piping around the edge with skinny piping I made from a silk scarf; and layered black & white vintage fabrics on the back. I also put in a zipper which had awesome b&w zigzag tape, so I left it exposed.

The calico was whiter in person, I was taking photos in the dark  Roll Eyes

I am now hooked on Slender Lorises.... and swapping!! Thanks for looking  Cheesy  Cheesy

6  Mustard Merino Crochet Sweater... mmmm in Crochet: Completed Projects by kathrynsss on: June 09, 2012 04:51:28 PM
I had a load of this unbranded merino which I picked up for a steal due to a streaky dye-lot, in a gorgeous mustard colour. It probably took me around three weeks working sporadically to crochet this up, using 8ply it came together pretty fast.
I used the Jumper pattern from Panda's Modern Vintage pattern book, tweaking the sleeve shape and length also shortening the body to more of a cropped length.

I think it turned out pretty sweet, and is lovely in the cold weather we've been having.
The colour probably lies somewhere between the two images   Wink

Thanks for looking  Cheesy

7  Lovely Lady Vintage Fabric Wallets in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by kathrynsss on: June 09, 2012 02:16:32 AM
I needed gifts for lady friends and family, so whipped up these wallets using scraps from my vintage and random fabric stash. They came together really fast and it was fun putting together rad fabric combo's. I think they turned out pretty great, the snaps making them look super professional. Each recipient has remarked on how often they get lovely comments at checkouts!  Cheesy

I used different coloured or pearly snaps to close them.

Places for cards, cash and a coin department on the inside. Inside is also where the colour combos come alive.

Thanks for looking  Cheesy
